This is the response from goodwill. I really can’t do much more.

The replacement bag is an authentic Coach. Additionally, upon further review of the first bag, it appears that, too, is a real coach. These are both vintage bags for which using current creeds and identification methods don't necessarily apply. While we appreciate your research, the particular site your reference is often inaccurate. I will have the shipping department forward a return label to you.
Obviously, Goodwill is more concerned about making money than it is about doing the right thing.

And to borrow a phrase from Judge Judy:

...current creeds and identification methods don't necessarily apply.

True, but clearly they didn't realize that current creeds and identification methods weren't used in this case.

...the particular site your reference is often inaccurate.

I wonder how they reached that off-the-wall conclusion. Compared to what? Their own untrained employees? Entrupy? Coach employees consulted at random? For all brands, or just Coach?

Yeah, I'd like to see the list showing when we've been inaccurate.

At your convinience ladies of wisdom.

Seller: wallis 2011

Currently in my posession, I know I should have my knuckles rapped.

It's authentic.
I wonder what the seller meant by "verified" in the title!! Surely it wasn't professionally authenticated with just 7 pictures, 4 are of the front of the bag and NO creed photo. If "verification" was comparing it to 9927 and seeing that it matched the style, the seller got incredibly lucky because there are many fake Willises with "9927" on the creed!

Please follow the following rules:

  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller:
    Link:
    Comments:

  • If the bag in question is not on an auction site, please use the following:

Item Name (if you know it):
    Link (if available):
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
    • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
    • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.

I think the buyer got lucky to but I took a calculated risk. The seller having excellent feedback I felt if it was a dud we could work it out.
At the listing price of red willises on ebay, the time of night, the price of that bag...my brain went on vacation.I just knew she wasn't going to be there in the morning.(Hangs head in shame).
I'm still elated that it worked out tho.:P
