  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

Comments: I'm questioning this bag. The serial number looks "different" from other 1996 C plant creeds.

Yep to all of the above, plus any briefcase from 1996 or newer especially one supposedly from November should have the newer rectangular turnlock. Report away!

No, @whateve, I didn't notice the different hardware colors but I noticed other problems.

The Costa Rica plant was one of the last remaining in the Western Hemisphere in 2002 and it seems like they were getting the remaining older hardware and what-nots from the closed plants, anything that was outdated or not worth shipping to China. We even spotted a leftover "solid brass"-stamped buckle that had been passed down to them from some other plant's old stock.

What bothers me is that the metal hangtag looks like a fake. It has raised letters instead of a flat surface, ignore what I said earlier about the stamping on the back.

The dragon seems OK but I'm going to look at it more closely.

ETA - 93071 is the style number, click on the thumbnail to show the correct hangtag, unfortunately I don't have a pic of the back but the drilldown pic of the hangtag matches mine exactly. The Dragon seems genuine.

OMG! You know, I saw that hang tag and thought it might look of because of the way it was photographed.

And I didn't notice that MIC was upside down.

Oh shoot, never mind what I said about the back of the hangtag, the stamping is correct. But the front is definitely wrong.

ETA - here are the DD hangtag pic and the (probably) fake one, are you seeing the same raised letters and edge that I am? The genuine one is absolutely smooth on the top.

I agree about the hangtag. I'm also worried that the logo on the back is very faint and crooked. Doesn't this one look very similar?
