Hello and good day all! I attended an estate sale this weekend that was choke full of some really nice things and high-end belongings, furniture etc... At the sale I was able to get a really nice, Beautiful, brand new with tag MK Cross body bag and this Coach bag! Well, its got a Coach creed on it with a serial number, but I'm not sure this is an actual Coach bag! Now I know the bag is missing it's shoulder strap, that can be replaced if it's a real Coach made bag! There are a couple things about it that make me think it's not real, but the place it came from... I'm just not sure! I'm not a professional when it comes to handbags, so, any comments or opinions you folks may have about it would certainly be appreciated very much!! Thank you all so very much!!
I pretty much got the bag for a couple bucks so I'm not out anything if it's a fake or a counterfeit!
The first thing I'd like to mention about it is that it does have a creed with a number on it, but the paragraph on the creed has some very poor spacing between the words and the stitching overlaps a little much at the bottom right of the creed! The number is as follows; No. M04K-1741
The second thing about the bag is the lightweight 'C' logo fabric isn't centered when looking at the bag straight on, on the front, a little better on the back, but not the way Coach does it! I thought it would always be 4-C's evenly split in the center of the bag on all sides!!??
Third thing about the bag, is that it doesn't have any other tags sewn into the inner seams anywhere, I do understand they started doing that at some point with certain bags in the near past or something!??
Ok, I don't know what the bag would be called and unless it's leather (which this bag is not) I'm not that precise when it comes to knowing all the different types of fabrics they did or did not use on their bags! And to make it worse, I am very poor at keeping track of all the names of the different styles of bags they did make!
This bag seems to be made of a very light weight fabric, not quite as heavy as a denim, it's much lighter and maybe a little looser too! It does have a nice straight heat stamp on the front center strip saying Coach, Leatherware, est:1941! All the trim is a fake leatherette! The zippers, zipper pulls, and the brass rings that take the shoulder straps are all solid brass and none of them have any markings or stamps on them! And besides the stitching all looking very white, they do all look very straight and very even everywhere, except at the bottom right (looking straight at it) side of the creed where it is overlapped a little much! The bag measures approx, 9 inches tall by 7.5 inches wide with only the one pocket on each outer side of the bag, none inside!
This one simply has me second guessing my own judgement! I have made some strange mistakes in the past, and I've not bought a Coach in some time because of this!! If you need any other info please let me know! Thank you all very much for your time!!

I'm very sorry for the length of my post, but this is the only way that I'll learn to authenticate for myself out in the wild! By being able to ramble out each of these little quick checks over and over very quickly, I'll never get taken by a shady dealer! Thanks again for any and all help or comments!! Kasper
I'm glad you didn't pay much because it's fake.

Sorry.

Sorry.
BeenBurned, Thank you for reading and for your time! You know right after I clicked post, and saw the large pic of the first picture again, I said to myself, "Why did I even post this? (shaking my head no) I know it's gotta be a fake!"!!! Just look at that poor arrangement of letters on the front of that thing!! Lol!! Wow!! Lol!! It's been a long while since I've bought or even held a Coach bag, or tried to authenticate one myself, so I was really feeling that I had lost some of the touch!! And of course reading here on the forum of all the beautiful bags, and getting lost in the conversations, it has been fun!! I need to get back to this place more often and stay more involved and start picking up more designer handbags when I'm out picking and hunting!! Thanks again so much for your time!!

VERY fake.

We don't recommend that inexperienced buyers purchase any highly faked brands from sellers or sites that don't offer a 100 percent refund policy if the item turns out to be fake.

I STRONGLY suggest that you read and make copies or notes of, or keep the webpages saved in your phone or tablet, of the six Salearea Guides posted here:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/salearea-guides.983575/
They don't promise to tell you how to tell if a Coach is genuine since there's no simple way of doing that no matter what you've read on the internet. But they do tell you, especially in the Guide titled 2- Coach Authenticity Guides - Facts and Myths, some of the most common warning signs of fakes.

1- Allison Flap from 1999

2- you posted the wrong URL.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Vint...:8KUAAOSw6lpceUup:sc:USPSPriority!60452!US!-1
Probably a 4070 Bucket Bag Small from around 1990 $136

3- if the e5c-0044 serial is in the leather bag, it's NOT from the 1960s. The seller is 30 years off. It's a Taylor Zip from 1995, $166
My apology for adding the wrong link and the extra time it took to "track down" the correct link. Thanks to both of you for the info!

Hyacinth, Thank you so much for your time an for showing me the guides! I didn't even know those were here, tho it makes perfect sense!! As for the bag, It was an extra item pretty much, I'm certainly not out anything because I bought it! And after posting it I realized immediately that I should have gone with my gut instinct, and not have even posted it! It isn't even a "good fake"! Lol!! Thank you again for your comment and your time for sure though!!

All look good.

The bag looks okay but the seller has had fakes in the past and in fact, I'm curious about this listing from the same seller.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Vint...:m9cAAOSwoW1ceaZz:sc:USPSPriority!02452!US!-1

More pictures are needed but the digits of the serial prefix look much closer together than the other *6L- serials I have in my files.
I just wanted to update.

The seller added a couple more pictures of the creed and the plant is B.

I can't tell whether Coach double-stamped or if it the seller's photography.

I think the bag is okay.
