Item: SUPER RARE COACH 9727 WILLIS POST POUCH RED LEATHER BAG PURSE
Listing number: 303110719925
Seller: bigwilliejam
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/SUPER-RARE-COACH-9727-WILLIS-POST-POUCH-RED-LEATHER-BAG-PURSE/303110719925
Comments: I could not find any style info on 9727 and (to me) it looks like a 9927. Plus, I’m always leery of “Super Rare” descriptions.

First of all, it's NOT "super rare". Willises are very easy to find on Ebay, both real and fake. This is one of the real ones. The red color may be hardER to find, but Super Rare it ain't. As for the style number, someone at the plant's stamping machine goofed. The correct number should be -9927 as you already found from your searching. Having the wrong style number in the serial number doesn't make it rare, it just makes it harder to sell. There was no need for the seller to come up with some wild fancy about it being some top-secret unknown Willis Post Pouch style. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the most accurate. Coach plants and plant employees DID sometimes make mistakes, anyone who thinks otherwise is living in a dream world.

Just a piece of advice - I wouldn't advise buying any Coach for resale if it has a mistake in the serial number, someone you might try to sell it to would probably question its authenticity because of the number, just like you did. If you plan on keeping it forever, that's a different situation.
Did you happen to notice the other "Willis" that bigwilliejam sold? That one has the "correct" style number ---- but it's not authentic!

I was curious about this bag & requested additional photos including the serial number. Seller response: "Sorry, no." That response & the notation in the listing that says "There is no reason to involve eBay as I am very easy to deal with and pride myself on great customer service." No way to confirm it's a fake, but those things make me think it could be. Did I overlook that seller name being listed here as selling fake bags? Thoughts? Thanks!

The seller seriously has only one photo? The feet suggest it is a stewardess but there is no way to confirm authenticity. If it is a stewardess, that isn't the correct strap. We don't have complete records of every seller who has listed or sold a fake. They only come to our attention if someone posts the listing on the forum.

Nope. The Lightweight/Soho bags started using nylon zippers as early as the late 1980s in an effort to reduce weight. Many other styles gradually switched over in the 1990s.

ETA - I also have a 1992 or 1993 Sheridan with nylon zippers both inside AND outside.
I honestly wasn't even thinking about vintage Coach bags with lining since I know they always made their own rules

As for the Lightweights, I have one large and two small Swingers; the outside zippers in all three are brass and black fabric, typical for the early models, and the Shoulder Pouch has no zipper. All inside pockets are an open type.

Hello. I have a question and it's a long post so please bear with me. Recentlya big store in my area started stocking coach bags. (No coach outlet in my city)
All the items there seemed like factory outlet bags. One in particular caught my attention since it was almost like my city zip tote. I examined it further And a few things bothered me. My city zip tote is in PVC. Black, monogrammed bag. The PVC in my coach bag feels exactly like another pvc mk I own which I bought from Macy's USA. But this bag's material seemed different. It should have been PVC but it was totally different from my coach PVC. So my first question: do all city totes in monogram have same PVC material?
The price tag. It only had coach logo on it. No other information when I opened the tag. All other coach bags in the store had the same issue. My question: is it possible that the original bags tags provide no information other than the logo?
Some bags had dustbags but not all. The dust bag i have is a silky material with coach logo on the bottom right. The dustbag in this was some other material with a large coach logo in the center.

I couldn't take any pics there but it troubled me. These bags were around $300. Is it possible these were super fakes? Either this, or my coach city zip tote f36876 is a fake. Because there was a big difference in the material.

I'm sorry for the long post but I'm totally fretting about my bag now. I've been using it for sometime and it's a good bag- but I would get extremely upset if it turned out to be fake.

My initial thought was a stewardess bag, maybe with a replaced strap. Whether fake or real, you'd think a seller would want as much as possible for a bag and this seller may not get much without additional photos.

What city is the store located? It sounds like you may not be from the US. We need information like that to give useful advice.

Coach will never sell bags with just their name on the tag, no matter what country the store is located. there are always the UPC code, color codes, the style number and name, and other information. Do you still have the original price tag that came with the bag?

The best thing to do is to post photos of the details we need to see, post Number one of this thread has those details. And we need to know where it was purchased.

Sorry, I guess I did not describe properly. English is a second language for me. I am from Pakistan. The store is in Pakistan. The issues I stated are all in that store bags. The bags there had empty price tags, different dust bags from mine and different feel of the PVC.
I compared my zip tote ( I bought it a long time back online hence no tag) to the bags there. Since the material was different I feel either my bag is fake or the shop bags are.
I feel like the shop bags had other red flags too. (Empty tags, different dustbags) I wanted to confirm the tag issue. Since I couldn't photograph the dust bag and the Creed patch in the shop.
There are no counterfeit laws here so there is a chance these bags are being sold as original but aren't. I liked a bag there but am skeptical. I don't want to spend so much And end up getting a fake.
What does coach PVC feel like? Is it like mk PVC? Coz I have mk PVC bag from Macy's USA so there is no chance of that being fake.
Did I explain right this time? No pictures from the store since it would be very awkward to snap pics.

If the price tags are empty except for the Coach name, the stores bag are probably fake. Did you already buy one? If you did not buy anything yet, do not. Genuine Coaches have the same information on their price tags in every country on this planet, and price tags that can be printed in any language. It sounds more and more like that store is selling fakes, but at genuine-bag prices.
