Item: Small Black Zip Pouch
Seller: Goodwill ($1.00)
Dimensions: 7.5 in x 4.5 in
Comments: This little zip pouch has a creed but no style number and it doesn't have a hangtag or a small, inside tag. The creed is puffy so that caused some doubt in my mind, but it seems very well made, and the fancy stitching reminded of the old Hamptons bags, so I figured for $1.00 it was worth taking a chance.

Please give an opinion on authenticity. I had a hard time getting a pic of the creed and these are the best I've managed, but if you need better let me know and I will try again. Thanks!

Aha! I knew I'd had one of the same items. Mine was cordovan. It took me forever to find my pictures of it.

The style number is 3440 and from what I'd researched, it seemed to have originally come with a wrist strap although now that I see you are missing it too, I wonder if Coach changed it prior to putting it into production.

First 2 are mine, #3 is stock image:

Thanks, BB, I went through about a dozen Wayback Accessories dates from 2002 to 2004 and couldn't find it
That's really strange, so they couldn't make up their minds if it was a cosmetics pouch or a wristlet? Just another proof of the Famous Inconsistency Rule - "The most consistent thing about Coach is their inconsistency". As if we needed more proof. :graucho:

It looks like they definitely changed it because the stock photo shows a little leather loop on the side that holds the fixed end of the strap. It's not on either of ours.

I remember the first time I caught a difference between Coach's stock photo and the final item.

It was this sun fob and interestingly, there are a lot of fakes that look just like the stock picture.

Welcome to TPF, but please read the Rules in post number one of this thread - they state:

"Note: The PurseForum requests that only members with an extensive knowledge of the brand and authenticating who have over 500 posts participate as authenticators in this AT thread. The moderators reserve the right to remove authentications that do not meet these requirements."

Please let the authenticators handle the questions in this thread.
If we need to ask for more opinions, we will. Enen posts by non-authenticators or new posters indirectly implying that something is genuine are strongly discouraged.Thank you.

Sorry [emoji52]
I worked 6 years for Coach ,before it became Tapestry.
I didn’t read rules before I posted. It was darn near impossible for me to figure out how to even log on and create an account. I was simply excited that I was able to. I posted before reading simply to see if I was able too. [emoji17]

This zipper pull might be a problem. (Or it might have been replaced.)

The strap hardware does not look right either:

I don't know what that bag is but definitely not a genuine Crosby. This is how my the under side of the flap looks. I couldn't report the listing without the Creed pic but too many details looked off to be a genuine Coach. View attachment 4389924

The Foach vibe is strong with that one. I saw it too. But with no Creed pic . . .

That zipper pull is a big problem just by itself, those oversize round pulls with the little bit of metal at the top where it's stamped "COACH" are only found in fakes, mostly Korean ones. Coach didn't start using something similar until whenever it was that the Poppy line came out, around 2010 or thereabouts.

I'm reporting it but whoever bought the fake Crosby from " neworleanslady307 " may have just thrown away almost 50 dollars. And I would really love to see that creed, there's at least a 50-50 chance it might say Made In Korea.

Here's a good pic of what those fake Korean zipper pulls look like, from a Korean-made fake "Sheridan"

My search shall go on (insert very sad face)

I appreciate that, and apologise for being a little terse with you. But it's really important to us to make sure that the info we post here is correct and sometimes even opinions can cause problems, it's happened before.

Navigating this place would challenge the skills of even Sir Ranulph Twistleton-Wykeham-Fiennes, so I can't blame you for being confused. A good thing to remember is that each different "Authenticate This..." thread for almost all the major purse designers will have a set of posting rules and a list of the required information as the first post or posts of that thread, and almost every one is different. So it's important to read Post One in each forum because what's allowed here for Coach could be very different than LV or most other brands. As for the other forum quirks, it may take a few months to figure things out, but once you're in the TPF Survivor Club it will have been worth it.

That's what threw me off too, and why I figured that it was a cosmetics case. But except for a few styles of the older cases with the ticking lining, how many cosmetic cases have creed patches? :confused1:

Wow, thank you so much! Even though it only cost me $1.00 I still like to know the history of the items I rehab and I try to make sure that they are as complete as possible and I had a feeling that something was missing. I have a small silver hangtag that I can use on it and I will keep my eyes open for another hangtag like original.

It does seem that they changed the design before production because mine also has that small leather loop pull tab.

Thanks for making the effort to find the photos, they are very helpful!

Yeah, it was a mystery to me too. I don't think that the Goodwill staff realized that it was a Coach product or they would have marked the price a lot higher than a dollar. They often mark up the brand name bags and accessories, including the fakes and bags in bad condition - especially the fakes in bad condition! But this little pouch is very well made and when I unzipped it and saw the creed patch I wasn't sure what to make of it, but it felt genuine.

I do have a cosmetics bag with a creed patch but it was a special product made for an Estee Lauder sales promotion, so not your typical Coach cosmetics bag.

Thank you both!

I've found Coach items with very little branding for bargain prices too.

Okay, I reported the fake Coach Butterfly Keychain to Shopgoodwill.com and they refuse to remove it from their auction listings!

They say that they haven't claimed that it is authentic because they only authenticate purses and shoes and not accessories like keychains and therefore it's okay - even though it is branded as coach and the listing calls it a coach keychain!

I've exchanged several emails with them and they refuse to budge. The link for the listing is below, if someone else wants to give it a try just send a message to their customer service and include the link.

Thanks!

I would forward the email string to Coach's counterfeit dept via email. And I would also let Goodwill know you were reporting them directly to Coach for good measure.

And here's another good reason to avoid neworleanslady307 and other sellers who don't verify authenticity of their items.

This sold "Dooney" wasn't made by Dooney and Bourke.
