Thank you, ladies! The backpack is no longer there. Now I understand more than ever why the buyers are better not shipping counterfeit bags back to the seller...
While in this case, the seller wasn't honest and relisted, I disagree with your opinion that disputed "fakes" shouldn't be returned to sellers.

Too often, buyers cry "fake" either because they don't know the brand or because they're looking for an excuse to return it to a seller without a return policy. Often, items are NOT fake and shouldn't have been disputed, but when they are, the seller has the right to get them back. Also, there were cases back in the day (and a few even nowadays) where buyers have gotten refunds plus kept authentic bags!

Even when item is accurately disputed as fake, there are cases where the seller can return and get a refund from whoever sold it to her.

As long as a buyer gets a refund and is made whole, she shouldn't be allowed to keep the item too.

JMHO.

Hello to All! Please authenticate this COACH bag for me. Sorry, only 2 pics. Was shopping today and came across this Coach bag. Did not have any model ID at bottom of creed patch nor any inside interior zip pocket. There was a little black material tag sewn in an inside side seam that said MADE IN CHINA but, had no little dot upper right from word CHINA. Sorry, no pic of that. Also, there was a metal 4 C logo front top center where I might expect to see the Horse drawn Coach metal piece. I became wary. Should I go back to buy it?0318191530.jpg 0318191531.jpg

There is a style that looks like that and the 4 C metal logo was used on some bags. I can't say if it is authentic without doing more research.

I'd love to have that reference info if it's okay to share it here. Thanks!
These worked on my Willis great for the D rings:

I originally purchased a strap from the same seller but it's not adjustable, which to me isn't true to the style, so returned it. I ended up getting a different from this seller in the 5/8 size:

I find your point of view totally valid, BeenBurned, but I guess there's not a single fool-proof scenario that can resolve a situation like that. I understand why the first buyer was upset and furious, but I also wonder whether she gave the seller any concrete proof of her opinion, and whether the seller relisted the backpack because she was just doubtful due to lack of evidence - or she knew the item was fake but put it up for sale, anyway. In this particular case I personally am having a hard time to decide if either side was 100% right or wrong simply because I don't know all the facts.
