I find your point of view totally valid, BeenBurned, but I guess there's not a single fool-proof scenario that can resolve a situation like that. I understand why the first buyer was upset and furious, but I also wonder whether she gave the seller any concrete proof of her opinion, and whether the seller relisted the backpack because she was just doubtful due to lack of evidence - or she knew the item was fake but put it up for sale, anyway. In this particular case I personally am having a hard time to decide if either side was 100% right or wrong simply because I don't know all the facts.
Years ago, Paypal used to tell people to destroy fakes. It blew up in their face. People were told to destroy things that were actually authentic. Since the buyer gets her money back, and is made whole, the seller deserves to get back her item. Maybe she wants to use it for herself, which is completely legal. Since you can't know her intentions, you can't make the determination that she shouldn't get it back. If she does something wrong after that, there are things you can do. In this case, the fake was reported to ebay and the listing was removed. When the seller was told by the buyer it was fake, whether or not she believed the buyer, she should have checked to make sure it was authentic before relisting. It wouldn't have been difficult to figure out.

There's a photo of the creed but no number under it. Where would the number be and does anyone know the name of this bag?

Item:
Coach Brown Leather Saddle Style Crossbody Purse
Listing number:
Seller: GoodWill Online
Link: https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/65158141
Comments:
It's authentic. The number won't be anywhere. Some Sheridans were made without numbers. It's an Sheridan Durham mini bag, made in the early 90s.

Is the bag in your possession, and if so, how long have you owned it? Authentication requests for any items that are currently for sale online must include a link to the listing and the name or selling ID of the seller. Please read Post number One for this forum's posting rules.

It looks OK to me so far.

Nope, sorry, I didn't realize you needed the link. I found the pics online and thought it would be easier for you to read them. Here is the actual link:

That's why the thread title includes "see first post for format".

It looks genuine but if you've posted in this thread before you'll probably know that we don't recommend Poshmark because of their unacceptable way of dealing with fake items.

I am sorry about the faulty way I posted. I'll remember for next time. Is there a thread on PurseForum which discusses Poshmark and other sites which are not recommended the I could refer to?
