Good evening Authenticators

Could you please help verify if this bag is genuine? Even though I’m annoyed with the phantom eBay ”import charges” I think I’d still like to purchase it..

Item : Devon bag
Seller : Adorno.nina1981
Listing number : 202593039667
Link : https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Vintage-COA...Leather-Flap-Turnlock-Crossbody-/202593039667
Comment : Not specific to this listing but I noticed a lot of eBay listings now include an “import charge”... even though I know for a fact that there won’t be any duty charged on this purchase. Even if there is a charge, I’d be ok with paying it at the post office when I pick up the bag. I’d actually like proof that this charge is going to my government, because I’d be ok with that too. Right now it’s just seems like eBay is tricking sellers into tacking on this charge for them... /End rant

It looks authentic. Those bulges in the side pieces are weird though. That isn't usually noticeable. The seller is probably using the global shipping program to ship. It reduces the risk to the seller, but costs more for the buyer. Pitney Bowes is the one charging the import charge. I sincerely doubt it will reach your government.

I missed the the weeney11 listing that you'd asked about but I found a cache of it and it appeared to be black.

It looks like she also had this identical brown one that was sold for $30.

Both gone now. Hope the seller doesn't have a room full of them!

Thank you whateve for your quick reply and for reading my rant. :)

About the bulges, do you mean the ones in photos 5 and 6? After seeing your post i went to check my black Devon and while I can feel the bulge, you’re right they are definitely not noticeable. Is this a cause for concern?

I guess I can see how the gsp would be perceived to be offering a level of protection to the seller... though, in my experience with online shopping, most nationally owned postal services are more than reliable.. and that’s exactly what gsp uses anyway...

I don't think it is cause for concern. It's just cosmetic. If it doesn't bother you, there's no problem.

I meant the gsp is safer for the seller because she doesn't have to fork over money to ship to you. All she has to pay for is getting the package to Pitney Bowes in Kentucky. Once it is delivered there, she is protected even if the package doesn't make it to the final destination, supposedly. I've shipped with GSP several times. Personally as a seller, I don't want to pay $40 or so out of my own pocket to ship out of the country. It is too much risk for me.

Thanks again.

I hope campbellclaire doesn't relist, but TBH, I'm not optimistic.

She blocked me.. LOL
This is SOOOOO typical of Poshmark and its sellers.

And it cements (in my mind) that I've made the correct decision in not authenticating and not recommending poshmark and sellers there.

I was hopeful that CAMPBELLCLAIRE might be an honorable seller who made an honest mistake, but I was wrong.
