Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.

Please follow the following requests:

• Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
• Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.

• Front of item
• Back of item
• Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
• Made in tags (when available)
• Measurements
• For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
• For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
• If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

Please let me know if this is authentic! Bought off Poshmark, resold it and buyer is stating it’s fake but the original buyer claims it’s authentic

WHY does your buyer say it's fake? Don't ever just accept a claim like that unless they can give their reasons. If you're going to protect yourself from buyers making false claims you need to know why their opinions are wrong.

Also, since Poshmark is notorious for not removing fakes from their site or giving refunds to those who bought them, an authenticator can refuse to get involved with authenticating Poshmark items since it feels like they would be enabling a site that closes their eyes to customers who have been cheated. Sites like Poshmark and others that cheat customers as a normal way of doing business don't deserve recognition. Some one will probably be along to authenticate it but it may take a little longer.

my camera sucks! Im submitting pics with #s, bought some at an estate sale and an auction,and flea market

I use my phone camera for most bag pictures and it works fine.

Comments: I have a real city bag and the drop is almost 20". It is made in NYC. This bag, as in photos below, is made in Costa Rica per the creed and the drop at its longest is about 15". Do you think someone cut the strap or did Coach make a shorter strap, or is this not a Coach? The inside pocket has a nylon zipper (I think) whereas my Coach city made in NYC has a metal one.Thank you in advance! (Sorry about the bad photos, I am good at most things but photography is not one of them! lol)

It's genuine, from 2002, although it looks like one end of the strap has been cut, shortened and re-sewn at the end where it's attached to the bag, it looks raggedy and there seem to be long threads hanging. I don't think the rounded end was cut, the longer half of the strap has been shortened. The other differences you mentioned are normal for a bag that at least 15 years newer than your NYC City Bag. Coach often changes small details like zippers.

And please remember, if you bought it recently we need the details of when and where you bought it and the URL if it was an online site. You might have a valid Not As Described claim but without seeing the original listing there's no way we can advise you about that.

I only had one Coach for the longest time and then I inherited really nice ones (NYC ones, watermelon one etc), now when I see one (I like the vintage thick leather ones) at a thrift store, I get crazy. If I get the chance to get another, I'll be sure to give the details of when and where purchased. Just saw a post that you are in cold weather, hope you're keeping warm. (I'm from Canada so I kinda know cold LOL but sounded like super brutal where you are)

Thanks for the "warm" wishes! I'm sure when anyone south of Minneapolis complains about the cold, most Canadians/Canadiens just roll their eyes and think how soft we Yanks are. Sure, we're a little spoiled compared with the residents of the Great White North but now that the Chicago Cubs have FINALLY won a World Series it's the only thing we have left to complain about. (Other than our current crop of politicians, of course, but that's another story. I don't suppose you'd like to work out a trade? Our President for your PM? We'd even throw in half of our Congress to sweeten the deal, as long as we get to choose which half you get).
