I know, really. Also, bags I see for the most part are from the Lightweights. Maybe the thinner leather? And maybe there are just pigments that do not saturate the leather as well. I was also looking online over the summer at bags from around 2007, I believe from the Peyton line, in coral/persimmon/orange that didn’t wear well either.
Whateve has a gorgeous periwinkle belted pouch that is in mint condition. And I know my sister had one too, but whether or not she still has it . . .
So my cornflower girl will tide me over
The leather and saturation on the belted pouch are so much nicer than the 2005 Rambler. The belted pouch is technically a Lightweight, since the Lightweight line was rename Soho. They must have fixed the dye problems with Lightweights by around 1994-1995 because the Sohos generally don't have the same fading problems as the early 90s Lightweights do.

By 2005, the dyes didn't go all the way through. That probably stopped around 2003. The leather isn't as soft either, and rehabbing doesn't really help. The 2005 Rambler doesn't have the yummy leather of my 1998 Rambler and that is a shame.
Yep, I think it’s at least in part due to saturation. Those blue unlined bags are all grey inside, and the scratches are grey, the blue doesn’t go all the way through. If you are interested in that coral/persimmon/orange color, there was also carnelian, around 2012, that one seems to do OK. (Yeah, I just bought another bag this morning).
Carnelian was part of the Legacy line. It didn't hold up well either, depending on the style. The duffles were the worst. They get edge wear really easily and I've never found anything that will restore the color. It is more of a red with a bit of orange rather than a burnt orange color.

I guess the carnelian bags I’ve encountered are just “younger”. BTW, that color also appeared on some outlet pebbled leather bags. I have a backpack from that series, it’s doing OK, although I am relatively gentle on my bags.

The process used for pebbled leather is different. I have a 2012 Legacy pebbled drawstring that wears like iron. They made a persimmon and red-orange in it, which is in the color family we were discussing.

It's fake. Wrong details on the turnlock and the top handle, wrong serial font and wrong style number. POShmark strikes again!

Just curious - why did you give it a "Like"?

That’s what I thought. I “like” items just to bookmark them for later viewing. The likes can be undone but the sharing (the other way I go back and find things) can’t and I didn’t want to share it thinking it was a fake. [emoji4]

Gotcha - good idea.
Are you allowed to post to the seller, samantha427 that's it's a POS? (I'd do it in nicer language but I'm banned from posting there. ) BTW, the "Men's coach tie "
she has is also fake.

Can you please authenticate this little bag even though the creed is impossible to read fully. I bought it from GW
8 x 2.5 x 6
Some crooked stitching and cutting. I can't make out the style number.15432608721117361332716133720993.jpg 1543261279132872972813957246019.jpg 15432613248474922619843833371953.jpg 15432613645878845453494169272389.jpg
