For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:

    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)

  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

Why do you assume the Littleton was fake? Thanks.

It's not a Littleton, it's a counterfeit. Fakes don't deserve Coach names.

And there were at least 4 problems with that bag. Do a Search of these forums for one of the obvious identification points in that bag and see what you find. In fact, do a Search of Google with that same ID point plus my name and see what else comes up. If the seller had done that, even without including my name, it would have been obvious that there was a problem. It's called "due diligence".

Hello ladies,
requesting this one for my sister. She's unsure of the authenticity and is not (yet) a member of tPF, so I said I know just the right place. She has requested more pics of the creed and serial, but has yet to hear back. She's really interested and so I thought I will just put in a request and update with pics later (should she receive them). TIA

DIVAROSE said - "Okay. I went and looked at the listing you are referring to, but did not see it. Thanks for the info."

So do you understand WHY we knew it was fake and what details proved it? Because someone who doesn't take the time to do a little basic research about real and fake Coaches written by people who actually know what they're talking about should seriously consider NOT buying - OR selling - Coach products.

You don't need to see the original listing, the important detail is right in the photos that BeenBurned posted. Just click on them to enlarge.

l’ve asked this seller to show a photo of the serial number - there isn’t one showing on the inside patch. I’ve seen the same style with the number on the patch so that’s a concern. I also noticed there’s a ‘coach’ mark by the patch that’s upside down- that also raised a question. Assuming it’s a fake but would like to hear from others. Thank you!

You'll have to wait for one of the experts in recent styles, but before they can authenticate anything you're also going to have to read AND follow the instructions in Post Number One of this thread.

The lack of a stamped serial number is explained there as well as where to find the information. And if you're talking about the logo on the lining being upside down, you obviously don't own the bag or you would see that the logo pattern alternates up and down, just like the classic C pattern on Coach Signature fabrics.

Please follow the directions and post back, and if you don't get an answer it's because our authenticators have a serious long-standing issue with Poshmark because of their gutless, self-serving attitude toward fakes and their refusal to remove listings for fakes from their site, and in many instances even refusing give refunds for items even when the buyer provides solid evidence by qualified experts that the item is fake. Buy from Poshmark at your own risk, and if you end up with a fake you just may be stuck with it. Search these forums for posts that include the words "fake poshmark" for plenty of examples. You'll have to scan through a lot of posts but enough of them are by members who have been sold or gotten stuck with fakes from PM to make interesting reading. There are 500 total links to scan through. Here's a recent example, and there are other examples throughout that particular thread:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/does-anyone-use-poshmark.780202/page-245#post-32698516

The post right above it from a seller is interesting too.

We need a clear photo of the creed. I hope the style number isn't really 99999. The photos were working last night so keep trying.

I'll try, I know you needed that and yes that's why i'm confused lol it looks totally real but the number is shady... It's not working ugh, just keeps saying they're too large no matter what I do, i've never had an issue here. If it's fake it's damn good to me anyway but I'm a novice. I'm sorry I can't upload any pics, i'm not sure which end is the problem.
The full number is F0673-99999

The photo problem is with the forum, not you - if you've been able to upload photos in the past. I was having problems yesterday. I haven't tried today.

If the style number is 99999, it can't be authenticated. It could mean it is a sample or it could be a fake. I don't think we've ever seen a 99999 that we thought was authentic. I think the date code is too early for this style.

ETA: Here is the real style: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Leah-Legac...103586?hash=item3d792e9f22:g:5n8AAOSwerRbkgJB
You can see the date code is two years later.

Thank you, I'll keep trying because i'm very curious, the stitching looks straight, feels of good quality but the zipper instead of YK has a 45 so whatever the outcome this will be very helpful to me, i've never seen a good fake so if that should be the case it's a good learning lesson. It looks exactly like that listing but i'm sure there's some details i'm missing. Thanks so much for all your help.

I have photos of two totally different bags with the same serial number but slightly different creeds. Those couldn't be authenticated either, and since they can't be authenticated, they can't be resold. There was one seller who regularly sold bags with similar invalid serial numbers claiming they were "samples" but who never offered any proof including receipts from Coach proving they had actually been bought at a factory sample sale. If you had asked before buying we would have strongly advised you against it. Both styles are also too recent for the date code in the serial number. The seller should definitely have been more upfront about the bag's small size, just describing it as "small" is almost deceptive. Coach actually calls that style a 42423 Leah Legacy Stripe Top Handle POUCH which would usually indicate something smaller than 9 or 10 inches across.

NOTE - Trying to upload the photos but I'm getting the same "file too big" error code as other posters, and neither file is larger than 651 x 500 pixels.

While it's POSSIBLE that Coach for some reason decided to use a serial stamp with a date code that, from the examples already found, was at least two years too early for the sample styles (either when they were actually put in production or for styles that belonged to lines with very similar bag styles also from at least several years before the similar styles were produced), there's no way to prove it and we never recommend buying those sample items. If they did it was a dumb decision on their part, and also dumb to release samples for retail sale without some kind of permanent stamp on the creed, since it's possible (no proof of this BTW, just seems logical) that Sample bags wouldn't have been eligible for the same repair and warranty coverage as regular production items. After all, if the item never went into full production, how would Coach's repair service know it was genuine?
