This one is the "standard" Sidepack, it also came in a Small version. Coach hardly ever does 3 different size versions of the same style, but it has happened.

Genuine, made in 1996, and the seller is a tPF member who is also an expert on vintage Coach, and has never been known to list a fake, so you're very safe buying from her.

BTW, if the link(s) you post include photos of the bag it's not neccessary to copy and post them. The listing photos will be enough as long as the listing isn't about to disappear (which sometimes will happen with fakes once we report them).

Here's the catalog page from late 1995 showing both Sidepacks, click on the thumbnail to enlarge:

Thanks so much for your time

I have no proof there was a W plant ever in US. The only records I have for W is China in 2003. It might be a case of another plant uisng the wrong plant code but there is no way to tell.

That's only the second mid-1990s USA creed with a W plant code that I've seen, the other one in my files is the same style and serial number but it's Tan instead of black. It may have been a temporary plant since the code doesn't show up again until the early 2000s. There don't seem to be any other problems with the bags so it's probably genuine but there's just no way to be 100 percent sure without more examples.

Here are thumbnails of the other bag in my files:

The posts I've quoted are from a year ago but I found another bag with a W plant code and US-made text.

Note that the bag originally questioned, the additional comps @Hyacinth posted and the bag I'm posting are all the same style.

Authentic? Fake? Another example for your records? Are all W US plant code bags made in Feb. 1996 and style 9620?

Comment: style number doesn't match this bag
While I don't see any red flags and I suspect a Coach mistake, the purpose of my post is to show another identical bag with the same "incorrect" style number.

Please wait for @whateve and @Hyacinth to comment.

I don't believe the current seller purchased the bag from the seller of the earlier listing (below). There are differences indicating that they're different bags with different "dings."

ETA: It looks like the correct style number should be style 4922:

I agree, I think it was just a plant mistake.

It's pretty much the same. I'm inclined to think it is a plant mistake. It looks like creeds from the B plant at the time.

OK, thank you both. I've saved these examples to my files.

That 4903 style number really made its way around. Not only was it stamped in the wrong styles, but there are also the infamous NT-4903 fakes. And in the 1997 website page, Coach themselves stuck it on the wrong style's page, the style is actually the 4923 Sonoma Drawstring.

It appears authentic. The piping appears to be plastic. This was used on some early styles. If it cracks, it is difficult to repair it.

FWIW, for the number of Coach bags she sells, 2chicdivas should have recognized this fake (which was sold).
