Genuine. But I hope you noticed that the long strap is missing and the top handle is damaged.
Thank you Hyacinth. It is my intent for this to become my summer bad weather and garden center errand bag. I have a Mayfield black I will now just use for winter errands and will switch its strap to the Monticello if not too tight. It's nice not having to be careful with the Sheridans.

I want to express my appreciation to tpf, yourself and all the other experts. Thanks to the input, I've confidently been collecting a great variety of vintage bags since spring and enjoying using them all regularly. The collecting and rehabbing (and monitoring tpf) is another enjoyable pass time for me now since I am to young to be retired.

Hello! Would you please take a look at the following bag and let me know what I have (hoping authentic!)?
It measures approx 11”L x 8”H x 2.5”W

Thank you!

I could not agree with this post more! I have been indulging my self in great leather bags I could not have afforded 20 years ago. And I have been gifting them as well. When I chat about vintage Coach at retail stores with SAs, they always ask , how do I know I am not buying a fake? And then I tell them about this thread and the women who make it happen.
A sincere thanks from me as well :flowers:. And what am I doing this afternoon that I have off? Dunking a vintage and vintage next year bag!

I see no reason to change our opinion.

No GENUINE bags with serial codes newer than January 1998 - A8H- in a distinctive font - has EVER been found. And all bags with that J8H- code seem to have identical overly-large serial fonts and include other obvious mistakes including items with wrong style numbers or styles that hadn't even been introduced by the date code in the serial number. (Or in this case, a questionable color, if the photos are accurate, that wasn't even available in 1998). There's NO dount that it's fake and if the photos were better we could probably find other proofs. If Goodwill wants to pit their authenticators, whoever they are, against the experts at this board, they're more than welcome to issue a formal challenge. Tell them to bring money.

I used the information you provided and followed-up with Goodwill - they ended the listing. Thanks so much!

Both are authentic.

First is a Metro horse and carriage tote from 2014.
Second is a signature demi bag from 2004.
