So the J8H prefix, I've read it's fake but this daypack looks really convincing.

Item: Coach Daypack 9960
Seller: Goodwill

Product #: 57741130

Goodwill tells me its authentic, but I trust you all a lot more.
Goodwill is wrong and it's not the first and won't be the last time because they clearly don't have expert authenticators onboard.

May I please request an authentication of this Station bag in my possession?
Measurements are approximately 9 x 2 x 10 (L x W x H).
Comments: The bottom border of the creed is missing. It doesn't look like it's worn, it just looks missing.

It's authentic. It isn't uncommon for the stamping to be lighter in parts.

I see no reason to change our opinion.

No GENUINE bags with serial codes newer than January 1998 - A8H- in a distinctive font - has EVER been found. And all bags with that J8H- code seem to have identical overly-large serial fonts and include other obvious mistakes including items with wrong style numbers or styles that hadn't even been introduced by the date code in the serial number. (Or in this case, a questionable color, if the photos are accurate, that wasn't even available in 1998). There's NO dount that it's fake and if the photos were better we could probably find other proofs. If Goodwill wants to pit their authenticators, whoever they are, against the experts at this board, they're more than welcome to issue a formal challenge. Tell them to bring money.

Thanks to Hyacinth and to whateve for the info. What exact color blue was that duffle bag? It looked a little light in the pic for navy.

You should ask the seller if it's a true navy blue or a lighter blue shade. The only other blue available during that season was Periwinkle which was a lighter shade with a tiny hint of lavender. Ask her to take a photo of the bag in sunlight, or at least natural outside light.

ETA - Colors in website photos are notoriosly untrustworthy. Even photos taken by professionals can look very different under different lighting conditions. There are many posts from members who ordered bags from Coach based on their website photos and received bags with colors that looked nothing like the photos.
