Good morning. Please check my following two postings to confirm they are authentic. Thank you so much! I'm looking to get my first non-vintage bag!

Coach Purse
Listing # 56133502
Goodwill Columbus

Is this authentic? The plaque on the front doesn't look right to me, and there's no tag on the inside with a number, just a creed patch.
Thank you!
See post 1, page 1 for picture requirements particularly for bags with creeds sans serial numbers.

No far, no red flags but need more pics.

We STRONGLY recommend that Coach items being bought through Poshmark be authenticated BEFORE buying, since PM not only has no effective procedure in place to remove reported fakes, but often refuses to refund the purchase price of a fake item even when presented with irrefutable evidence that the item is counterfeit.

Your first listing seems to have the wrong link, you list it as "Authentic Coach Carly brown signature C hobo purse" but the link goes to a vintage foldover clutch and the seller's name is different. Please check.

The Carly in the second listing is probably ok but I'd like to see a straight-on photo of the turnlock and other hardware from one of the narrow ends of the bag. Carlys were one of the most highly faked Coach styles and should never be bought without being authenticated first.

Thank you for the prompt reply Hyacinth, and the PM warning. Which is/are the better sites to look for Coach bags?

I will check #1 link, as well as ask for clear turnlock/hardware for #2.

And perhaps I need to search out another more exclusive, less popular signature style...!!

Dear authenticators, could you please take a look at this duffle bag? Is this from the time Coach just added a creed?

Seller: vitalone684.
Item number: 183359361173 (EBay)
What a deal! Yes, it is from before Coach used serial numbers. It is the old style duffle sac with the front and back seams.

ETA: the shipping for me is $46.35!

Unfortunately even less popular styles were faked, sometimes very closely. The newer the style, the closer the fakes usually are. But fake Coaches go back at least 30 years, even the classic all-leather styles were faked, and maybe still are. We've seen a few that look almost brand-new. That's why authenticating something first is always the best thing to do.

As for where to buy, I'll just say that Poshmark, Etsy, Listia and a few others are the ones I would recommend the most caution with, none of them have any buyer-friendly steps in place to report and remove fakes or get refunds, quite a few members here have reported problems from all of them in getting their money back, although some of our members seem satisfied so far with their buying and selling experiences. And those sites NEVER remove listings for fakes no matter what kind of evidence they're presented with.

The ones with the best rules and procedures in place for both reporting fakes and getting refunds seem to be Bonanza and Ebay. I can't answer for sites outside the USA but I would always avoid any sites located in China or the Philippines. That's where the majority of fakes are currently made or distributed worldwide.
