It's genuine, probably from the early to mid-1980s.
Thanks for the confirmation. And are Coach bags really designed to be worn on the right shoulder as I read in one of your previous postings? I'm right handed and wear mine on my left shoulder. And my identical twin sister who is left handed also wears hers on her right shoulder. Luckily it works out both ways. Appreciate the shared knowledge you all provide.

I don't think they're designed specifically that way, but most people are right-handed and will wear the purse on whatever side that makes it easiest to access. I may have said that when talking about the fact that all shoulderbags where the long strap is permanently attached and has a buckle adjustment part-way up one side of the strap will have the buckled side toward the back when worn on the right shoulder. We've seen a few fakes where the buckled side was in the front instead. (Of course it's also possible that someone who had replaced the strap or removed it for cleaning might have put the strap back on the wrong way since even the "permanent" straps on classic and vintage bags could usually be removed for cleaning or replacement).

It's a companion bag #9300.

Is there a 2-part round magnetic snap holding the flap closed? If so we need to see a CLEAR readable closeup of the part of the snap with letters and numbers stamped on it. It doesn't have to be a huge photo but it does need to be readable. Thanks!

BeenBurned, I'm seeing as many similarities as discrepancies. The pic of the magnetic snap should help, without that I'm leaning toward genuine but we'll see. The creed stamp looks right and even the slightly off-center underscore under "No" is correct.

Happy Friday, Ladies! I'm sorry to have not seen the snap question/request. It is a 2 part magnetic snap with the "male" part on the flap side, USA PAT 4453294 AND OTHERs and then a symbol of some sort (going counter clockwise from 12 o'clock). I'll upload the photos shortly. Thank you for your help with this!

Thank you - so far it sounds good! The company name and/or logo is really important too but the US Patent number sounds legitimate.
