Comments: I couldn't help myself and bought this bag without having it authenticated first (it was an auction and I saw it late in the game.) I've received it now, so am posting the listing info plus my own photos with additional details . I do not have any concerns about authenticity, except I've seen some really good fakes on these pages, so I know you can't be too careful. This little bag is so cute, so I really hope I didn't miss anything. Thank you for taking the time to review!

Hi again - just wanted to see if anyone was able to authenticate this one from the other day (post 30120)? I certainly understand if you choose not to since all the experts are volunteers, but just wanted to confirm this was skipped intentionally and not overlooked. (If re-posting like this is not allowed, just let me know.) I don't have any concerns at all, but just wanted to be as sure as I can be before I leave glowing feedback for the seller. Thank you!

Could someone help me identify the black bag? Name and approximate year?

That "waxy feeling" might be shoe polish, which is NOT a Good Thing.

The bag might be a Convertible Clutch but without knowing the details of the inside pocket, open or zipped?, or whether there's actually a pocket on the back or just a seam, it's hard to tell exactly.

There are plenty of Coaches on Ebay from sellers who take accurate photos and measurements, so please don't spend your time and risk your money on the sellers who don't! It's NOT WORTH THE RISK.

Oh, no! I hope the seller didn’t use shoe polish. I’ll message them about the waxy feeling...I’ve never felt a bag like this before.

There’s no back pocket. One pocket length of outside front under turnlock and one inside zippered pouch behind creed. I’ve attached pictures...IMG_1858.jpgIMG_1859.jpg

Then it's definitely a Convertible Clutch, style 9635 from the mid -1980s.

Sorry, I don't get involved with newer styles, please wait for one of the other authenticators. But I don't see any problems.

Thanks!

Please help me authenticate this bag purchased previously on EBay

Item: Coach purse

Listing number: 253700685772

Seller: aric4430

Link: Coach Purse https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/253700685772

Comments: bag has a waxy feel so I’m not sure if it’s something previous owner used on the bag or it’s fake.

I don't think I've ever seen a reversed letter "R" in the word "CHARACTERISTIC" on a New York City creed before.

On the right side of the listing, just above the description box is a "report item" button. It might be in a different place if you are using the app.

Thanks!

Not sure if one of you reported it, but I just tried to report it on the app (button is towards the bottom), and it looks like the item was removed as I was writing the report.

For others unfamiliar with this like me, for the reason reporting it seems that you select:
"Copyright and trademark"
"Counterfeit item or authenticity disclaimer"
"Counterfeit, fake or replica items"

And a brief explanation why the item is counterfeit.

I didn’t even notice, ugh. Waiting to hear back on what seller put on the bag. I’m really afraid to start rehabbing it, the feel is just so thick and waxy. I’ve got lots of old coach and none feel anything like this.

I know what you mean. I just attempted to rehab a black New York City Classic Shoulder Bag that had shoe polish all over it. It was not a success. It doesn't even feel like leather. I hope you can return the bag.

The reversed "R" is just an oddity, To my knowledge, all New York City creeds are authentic (or at least no one has discovered a provably fake one) -- other opinions welcome of course!

I reported it so that is probably why it was already removed.

It looks okay to me too.

@houseof999 - how does it look to you?

I haven't either, but the creed and serial number details are genuine. We've said it before and I've said it in the Salearea Guides - sometimes Coach made mistakes. Obviously they caught this one pretty quickly.

Another photo for the files...
