Comments: How long was this style made (appx)? What color might this be?

The color is probably Taupe, that's the only Fall 1995 color that fits. I don't know how long it was made, probably not past the mid or late 1990s. You can always search the 9944s listed on Ebay and check the year codes.

I got this purse from Ebay and as soon as I took it out of the box I could tell it felt fake. Feels like vinyl and not leather. None of the hardware has a Coach stamp. Please authenticate, or not, so I can contact seller. Thank you.

I'm sorry but you're wrong. The bag is absolutely authentic and for $3.58, you got an unbelievable bargain! It's an Ali shoulder flap bag and originally sold (in full priced stores) for $498.

Be advised that the hardware is NOT supposed to have Coach stamps and in general, the more "Coach" markings, the more likely it is to be fake!

I don't see any red flags. The details look good and consistent to me but I am unable to read the last three numbers of the serial number. I went in my store today to see if they had one but they sold out. I'd like to see a bigger clear readable photo of the serial number and a pic of the made in tag to confirm.

Here's the photo from the seller. It's not very clear either, it's quite difficult to take photos because it's so small. The number on the creed, quoted from the seller, is H1777-22978.

Wow, well I am relieved. I usually only buy vintage Coach and I took a chance on this “newer” bag since it was low bidding. The leather has some puckering all around, I guess that’s the quality on the newer used bags. Thank you for verifying the authenticity for me!

    • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.
  • Authenticators are not required to answer every request and it is their right to ignore a request that is not in the proper format.
