I like some of the ugly bags too! Several of them are cuter in wristlet size.

I kind of like the fringe! I love the tweed, wool and mohair bags too, just not when they mix it with signature.

This is the tackiest thing Coach has ever made. The first time I saw one, I was sure it was fake.

I own this fur trimmed bag that other people think is hideous. It was only $25 shipped, down from the original price of $368. I carry it once or twice a year. It is so soft and squishy and lightweight. Not only is there super soft fur, there is squishy nylon quilting, pewter hardware, turnlocks and lacing. You can't see in the picture but the back of the strap is silver metallic and there are snapheads on the sides. There is a little bow at the back at the end of the lacing and suede backing behind the turnlocks.

Tim Gunn would say there are too many ideas but I love it! I think I even like that nearly everyone thinks it is tacky.
That's cute. Kitsch but cute. At least it has only two types of materials. It's the styles with multiple features and materials that look the worst IMO.

This one has to be at the top of my "Coach couldn't possibly have made something that tacky" list - 13841, Poppy Rhinestone Shoulder Bag. There's one in Completeds that shows what it looks like when the rhinestones start falling off (which given their track record with pave keychains had to happen to their bags too).

My apologies to anyone who owns one. ;)
OMG that tops the fugly list!

Was it varnished in place? Otherwise it would be a PITA to dust!
I don't think it was glued to the counter, but the popcorn itself was varnished. It was very odd!

Thanks! I agree. I admire all the details that went into this bag. It makes you think that someone actually cared about creating something special. I think they are cheating these days when they sell very simple bags without any special details for higher prices.

Finally! Got one! What time frame might this be?

Thanks!

There's one here from 1999 made in DR. Very poor listing. It ended first time with no bids and seller didn't get back to me with a pic of the creed so I bought another one. She has re-listed with a creed pic.

I think that's okay but it's not Coach, nor is it described as such.

Has anyone ever seen a fake Bonnie Cashin for Meyers?

:roflmfao:

Speaking of kitsch, I knew someone who had a spilled box of popcorn on her counter as decoration.

Was it varnished in place? Otherwise it would be a PITA to dust!

She should stick to selling soap!

For those of you who'd like your own "kitsch," here's a recipe:

You are all talking about "fugly" so I found this one.
Authentic I think, but it makes you wonder what that person's house looks like......
I mean how does something get that dirty and someone actually carrying it that way???

"needs cleaning" kind of an understatement, don't you think?
It makes me wonder at what point did they realize it was too dirty to carry. Then did they continue to carry it anyway. How could they stand it touching their clothes? If that had been mine, it would have met my washer a long time ago. I think it is optimistic to think it will sell.

*nobly refrains from comment*

"Lovely vintage bonnie cashin handbag, cream colored double kisslock closure with a large open area in the center. 81/2" tall, 4" wide and 51/2" at bottom 4" at top.The print is not original to the bag, a friend has decorated it for me using a hot iron tool, so the design is burned onto the bag.."

On a Cashin bag??? Are they f***ing NUTS ????

Allow me to make another suggestion about what those two geniuses can do with that hot iron tool !!!
