So I messaged the seller that it was fake and this was her response:

"(The H4B-05xx sequence belonged to travel and business bags and briefcases)..
This is part or their business products.

All good.
Thanks!"

She's full of baloney. A handbag is NOT a Business or Travel item. Briefcases, backpacks, waistpacks, and luggage are business and travel items.

THE ACTUAL GUIDE THAT INFO IS TAKEN FROM AND TWISTED ROUND SAYS "These numbers on PURSES are always fake, these numbers belong only to Travel or Business items...
H4B-0678

H4B-0517

H4B-0520

H4B-0532

HRB-0516

(The H4B-05xx sequence belonged to travel and business bags and briefcases, not handbags)"

and this pic of the GENUINE style 517 from the Fall 1996 catalog which is a Berkeley Backpack and which wasn't even introduced until TWO YEARS AFTER the date code in her fake. And you can report the fake to Etsy.

Ha. She thinks BeenBurned and I are working together - I didn't know BeenBurned had contacted her too. Anyway, it's taken down.

It IS supposed to be a Patricia, right? She's claiming it's a briefcase or something?

ETA: I replied that it is a purse and that number only belongs to a Berkeley backpack. She replied that it was overlooked by their company and is now deactivated. :D

WTF is THAT supposed to mean??? :D

Overlooked and deactivated? So it's a dead robot wearing camoflage?

(Where do they come from? Is it a full moon tonight?)

ETA - DAYUM! Looks like Etsy removed it already. Good work!

If they have a report button, since StarStruckNashville is in denial, hit that button!

Seriously? StarStruckNashville needs to stop googling for her information.

Is this one with the same serial number also a "briefcase?" It won't fit an IPad mini!

The sad thing is people had favorited it so someone would have ended up buying that. Like me, had I not found this forum! This and probably 8 other fakes by now!

Working together? Perhaps only to the extent that if she values her Etsy account, she'll do her homework before spewing carp.

I only contacted her to offer a second confirmation that the bag is a dreadful fake because sometimes, sellers might think a buyer is trying to get a deal by alleging fake when in fact, it's not. So my 2nd opinion might help convince her that she listed and might have sold an illegal item.

If she contacts me, I'll assure you we aren't co-conspirators!

Pfft - I don't care if she does think that. I just thought it was funny. I wondered what the percentage of caught fakes is vs. the ones that sell?

And I freely admit to being one of the Etsy members who reported it. If she doesn't want people "ganging up on her" i.e. reporting fakes so gullible buyers don't get stuck with garbage - she needs to learn to authenticate before listing. And when someone, or more than one someone, tell her something's fake, she should LISTEN.

I have NO sympathy for that kind of arrogance or blind greed, sorry.

Two of my favorite patterns are in the first two rows of that Google page. I'm CRUSHED !!! :D

But I have to admit, I like the Hamptons Weekend Patchwork BECAUSE it's ugly. Go fig.
I like some of the ugly bags too! Several of them are cuter in wristlet size.

Here are a few more fugly ones. Style numbers, respectively:
Style 6265, 9155, 9748 (similar to the tweed that was posted), 3592 (Brocade sure doesn't look like Coach's style)
I kind of like the fringe! I love the tweed, wool and mohair bags too, just not when they mix it with signature.

This one has to be at the top of my "Coach couldn't possibly have made something that tacky" list - 13841, Poppy Rhinestone Shoulder Bag. There's one in Completeds that shows what it looks like when the rhinestones start falling off (which given their track record with pave keychains had to happen to their bags too).

My apologies to anyone who owns one. ;)
This is the tackiest thing Coach has ever made. The first time I saw one, I was sure it was fake.

I own this fur trimmed bag that other people think is hideous. It was only $25 shipped, down from the original price of $368. I carry it once or twice a year. It is so soft and squishy and lightweight. Not only is there super soft fur, there is squishy nylon quilting, pewter hardware, turnlocks and lacing. You can't see in the picture but the back of the strap is silver metallic and there are snapheads on the sides. There is a little bow at the back at the end of the lacing and suede backing behind the turnlocks.

Tim Gunn would say there are too many ideas but I love it! I think I even like that nearly everyone thinks it is tacky.

I STILL want to report that rhinestone monstrosity any time I see one listed, it's worse than 90 percent of the "real" fakes!

I love that little quilted bag! Unforunately it was too small for me, and I don't wear any kind of fur except for lambswool. But some of the fur-and shearling-trimmed bags were really cute.

I think that's okay but it's not Coach, nor is it described as such.

Thanks. The stamp matched some other B.C. for Meyers too, so I thought it might be o.k. as well. I know it isn't Coach, just a Bonnie Cashin for Meyers. Cute little pouch for bits and pieces floating around in a purse!

Guess I am starting a Bonnie collection of non Coach things. That would be #3 to add to my Satchel with the attached zipper pouch. Bonnie Cashin for Elizabeth Arden. I have a leather jacket, Bonnie Cashin for Sills. Wish it fit me!!

I didn't report it because I didn't find the report button! Or I would have.

She did respond nicely with a similar response to what she told Flushpuppy.

I appreciate that she ended the listing, very much UNLIKE GutsyGirls who knows her items are fake, has had them removed multiple times from ebay, was ultimately disallowed by ebay from listing Coach and now peddles them on Etsy, mixed in with authentic items.

WTF is THAT supposed to mean??? :D

Overlooked and deactivated? So it's a dead robot wearing camoflage?

The seller probably deactivated it herself. That is what etsy calls it when you end a listing. Then the seller can revise it for a different item and not have to pay a new listing fee, as long as there is still time left on the listing.
