Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

And finally (for now), how do I go about getting a refund including all shipping? More specifically when I’ve asked for refund for purchase plus shipping BOTH WAYS I am generally told they can’t refund return shipping because they can only refund total amount paid. Last year I had a seller tell me they were sending me a check for return shipping and of course the check was forever in the mail and never arrived. And now another seller— for a bag I haven’t posted because it’s an obvious fake (although I can post if someone wants for their records?) has told me I need to return the bag and they won’t pay return shipping.

Yes, it's fake. The month code X would NEVER have been used by Coach, and the indentations in the back of the turnlock are never found on classic or vintage Coach bags although they ARE sometimes found on briefcase turnlocks and replacement locks from some 3rd party sellers.

Don't ever assume a certain style style hasn't been faked. ASK HERE FIRST, and don't bid on items with no creed and serial photos..

Wait for BeenBurned for refund advice, or check the Ebay forum at the main Coach forum here, I think there's a thread with that information in the Pinned section.

You want to give rosedroppetal the opportunity to resolve your complaint first, so before opening a dispute, contact the seller, let her know that the bag is fake and that you want to return it. But since it's counterfeit and should never have been relisted, you want her to send you a prepaid shipping label PLUS she'll need to pay the full price including the $14 shipping charge.

If she doesn't agree, open a dispute as "SNAD" and choose that it's not authentic as the reason.

Seller can either agree to the return for FULL refund or you can escalate for ebay to decide the case. Ebay will require her to make you whole.
