Really hoping this is true but you know what they say, if it seems too good to be true....

Seller: biggestlittleshop
Item: Ramblers legacy
Listing: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/282858191902

Seller sent me a creed pic quickly upon request, I’ve attached here.

Comments: I’ve never seen individually burnished on a creed before and it would seem it’s a 94. Was the RL made in 94? She’s got tags on, but they look old.

ETA: @Hyacinth - is this the color you mean when you talk about a Federal Blue Willis?

It could be Federal Blue or Denim Blue or Wedgewood Blue or whatever Coach called it. We've never seen a price tag or a website listing for any medium blue color from that year so everyone just calls it whatever color name they think describes it best.

And it's actually from 2004, not 1994. We've talked about the last of those Costa Rica plant bags several times. As you noticed, the creed statement isn't right for 1994 and neither is the history of the Rambler's Legacy. What I THINK happened is that Coach knew the plant would be closing very shortly, so when the format of the year code changed in 2004 from a single number to two numbers, zero plus the last number in the year, Coach probably didn't feel it was cost-effective to make a brand-new serial number stamp just for that plant that could stamp a 2-digit year code, or to take a stamp away from one of the China plants that were popping up like weeds and who all needed new creed and serial stamps, so they just told them to use the single number 4 on the old serial stamp instead since the CR plant was closing in a few months anyway.. We've seen quite a few classic leathers with that 4 code from Costa Rica and with the extra-long creed statement and they're all genuine. Strictly speculation on my part but it makes sense knowing how Coach does things.

And yes, it's genuine.

Here are a few more:

Thanks so much! I’m still “new” to vintage bags, starting my collection over from scratch after losing everything in a fire two years ago.

You reckon the Costa Rica 2004 leather is nicer than Chinese made bags’ leather for that same period? Is she worth taking a chance on?

I have several older bags from that plant and I'd put the leather quality based on the ones I've owned right near the top, along with the US and Italy. The leather from the China plants always felt stiffer to me.

Personally, I'd buy it just for the color, but the Rambler's is too small for me.

If you get it, PLEASE post a pic of the entire price tag showing the color code, I really want to know what they called it! All I can see in one of the photos is what looks like "LD" and they may have left the full color name off the tag completely since they were mostly made for the outlets.

Haha that’s precisely what I did. My favorite bag and in a mysterious, rare color? YAAASS. The minute it gets here I’ll post the pics of the bag and her tags.
