Comment: this one doesn't have a serial number.. and I have never seen a Costa Rica Creed stamp like this.
Hmm, I have that exact creed picture in my files as probably fake (saved in 2015!). As far as I know, this creed wording was no longer in use by the time they opened the Costa Rican plant. They made some mistakes when they opened but I doubt they could come up with a creed that had been retired years earlier. Doesn't the word 'markings" look like there is a 't' where there should be an 'i'? I can't see anything else wrong with the bag that would prove it was fake, so I don't know if I would report it.

It was probably a temporary stamp since it's the only one that's ever turned up, flaws and mistakes were the norm rather than the exception. I definitely don't suggest reporting it. (And we really don't know WHEN they opened the CR plant, the earliest example I have, which also has a stamping mistake, is from March 1995.) The F, G, H and M plants were still using the old creed wording months later so that wording had NOT been retired years earlier, it was still in use by for temporary plants as a "floater" stamp. In the early days Coach didn't pop out a brand new creed stamp every time a new plant was opened or an old one reactivated, they re-used what was already available until they were ready to make a new up to date stamp. There are several examples of GENUINE "scars, scratches" creeds that go all the way to December 1995.

And why would any faker, and back then it probably would have been a Korean faker, make a stamp saying Made in Costa Rica? I doubt if any of those early Korean fakers could even find Costa Rica on a map. It doesn't make any sense and it's never been done before or since in a fake.

Good evening Authenticators and Forum members. I reviewed a prior post concerning the Coach Sheridan Mayfield and discovered that “the plant” made a mistake. I just want to be sure it’s not a fake purse please.
Item: Coach Sheridan Mayfield Pebble Leather Purse
Creed No. 5CM- 4224
Please advise.

It is fake. You can still report it. If it gets removed quickly, the buyer will probably get notified.
Not only do my records on 9874judy go back to 2013 but she also has this fake.
