I can't read the creed but I don't see any problems. If it is authentic, it would be a Gramercy satchel, probably 7004 Gramercy North South Satchel.

Nice, thanks whateve. I’ve never seen this material/style from Coach before. You are just a wealth of knowledge and I appreciate your help!

I’ve overspent my allowance this week so someone else might snag a butter yellow Gramercy before I get my debit card back, lol. And that’s totally ok!

I have two bags from this collection, both in black, but not this style. Someone who is no longer active on the forum has a satchel like this in a light blue. They are very elegant bags. I compared mine side by side with a vintage Gucci, and decided the Coach was nicer, and not just because I'm biased.

Do you think that material would clean up well or no? It almost looks like saffiano.

My black ones cleaned up really well. I think yellow would be much more difficult. it was easy to mix a little black paint in with conditioner and use that to refresh the color. It is very similar to saffiano. It is textured. If there are any wrinkles or places where the texture has worn down, that is hard to fix. I used a little leather cement and ran a pin through it, creating texture. The suede lining cleaned up well. I used Lincoln E-Z cleaner. It removes ink pretty well from this kind of suede.

You got it from Coach. Coach starting referring to this bag as penny sometime in the last few years, maybe when they were selling those bedazzled vintage bags. I guess they thought the name penny was cuter than pocket purse. They also made a penny around 2012, and the Snoopy and Disney collaborations have a penny style.
Thank you!

I did some digging to see other posts of 7171 and some that were authenticated had the same sort of puckering around the turnlock. Additionally, I read an interesting comment from Hyacinth that her catalog has the logo in the bottom right but authentic ones have them in the upper right. I don't care either way if it's authentic or not, I can just return it if it's not. But are we surrrrrrre it's fake? Since it doesn't have a creed, might it have been one of the first runs where the logo was on the bottom right but they changed it, hence the catalog photo? I would be interested to know what decade or year these were sold as I have some old catalogs I'd like to take a gander at.

The reply by me that you found probably has the catalog date mentioned somewhere. Catalog photos aren't going to be much help. And yes, I'm sure that it's fake. I have a set of photos, the ones I mentioned in that previous post, with the stamp in the lower right but comparing those pics to the genuine ones I now believe that the example I mentioned is probably fake too.

I'm not sure what you mean about "puckering"? No mention of puckering was made that I can find. The indentations we referred to have been mentioned many times here over the past few years, do a search of the Coach forums for "turnlock indentation" or "indented turnlock" and then look at the same part of the turnlock on the one you bought. Those posts and photos will explain it much more completely than I could.

Please authenticate this coach turnlock style 7171. No creed in the interior. It feels legit but that has tricked me before. Thanks!

I'm seeing indentations on the back of the turnlock. Not a good sign. And the Coach stamp is in the wrong place for a 7171.

I had the same misgivings.
For the record, we discussed this about 3 weeks ago here:

Thanks! None of my few pics have a clear shot of that area but now that I know what to look for I can see it in one of the photos. So it looks like the ones with the stamp in the lower right corner are fake.

While doing a bit of searching, I found evidence there are also fakes with the stamp under the flap. Any of these pouches should be looked at before purchasing!
