Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller and site where listed
    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

It's fake. I can't read the serial number but the font is one commonly seen on fakes.

Is the bag listed somewhere?
Thank you, that is what I thought. I bought it on Ebay (I was unsure, but i saw they took returns, so I gave it a shot). The photos weren't the best. The photos I just posted are some I took this morning. I posted it here just in case the seller tries to mess me up somehow in my Ebay feedback...I don't particularly want to list her name here unless she totally screws me/ or once I get my money back... She was quite upset/rude when I politely said that when I received the item, I was able to look at it much more closely and could tell it is not authentic... The number is pretty unreadable, although I think the plant code number is either an M or N, which wouldn't make sense anyway. Thanks for your help!

If you need a list of reasons it is fake, let me know.

The font matches other M4N prefixes.

As for the "no return" policy, that's irrelevant in cases of SNAD. Ebay does allow sellers to not accept returns but those sellers' items had darned well better be accurately described.

Also, a seller can't "mess up your feedback" because sellers are only allowed to leave positive feedback for buyers and that feedback has to be positive in context.

PLEASE post a link to the listing and the seller ID. (See post #1 for the posting format for future requests.)

ETA: I think I found the listing:
Seller kimdrharri_0
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coach-Black-Leather-Medium-Crossbody-Bag-with-Handle-/112579002512?hash=item1a363b4090:g:bk0AAOSwIdpZyv49&nma=true&si=gKfc3NKgjlm5%2FsBMF0DSrZl0w7c%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Refer the seller here.

BTW, I'm not a fan of protecting a seller who not only sold a fake but denied and accused the buyer when confronted!

ETA: She also sold this fake, G4D-9927:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Vinta...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Thanks for that info. ive been a pretty solid seller/buyer on Poshmark, but pretty new to ebay rules when things go wrong, so I wasn't sure of the specific rules. I just want my money back...

That is the correct listing you posted. And you're right, I just wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt that she made a mistake and it wasn't on purpose... Guess I'm a little naive/hopeful to think that everyone has good intentions!

Of course being human, we all make mistakes. It's how we handle and react to those mistakes that define us as a good seller or not.

I don't know whether you saw a couple of updates to my post but I edited it to show another fake that was sold. (I'm still going through her listings so there could be more!)

Sellers are required to KNOW authenticity or verify before listing, clearly not done by kimdrharri_0.

Good grief! This is another (third that I've found) fake she sold:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Wil...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

More fakes??? Well in THAT case... yes, she can't be doing this!! Post that all over the internet! Ha.

I should add though that although the seller has a return policy, it states that return shipping is at the buyer's expense. However when an item is SNAD, the seller is required to cover shipping in both directions. (Buyers shouldn't be out a cent when the seller sells a fake or a misdescribed item.)

Since the bag can't be resold (legally), the seller would probably find it more cost effective to just issue a full refund and tell you to destroy and dispose of the fake. Why pay return shipping for an item she'd be stuck with forever?

I totally agree with you, but unfortunately she did not want to hear it. I suggested she post it here for authentication, but she kept denying it. See attached.

Hello, I purchased these Coach 9755 Pocket Purse bags on eBay from the same seller in 2014. Each measure 9.5" x 6" x 1.75". I see a couple differences and realize that Coach changes details. The brass clips look slightly different and the strap drop on mahogany is 19.5", while red bag is 16.5". Are they both genuine? Thanks!

Waiting for pictures.

ETA: Since pocket purses have removable straps, there is no way of knowing that you have the original strap that came with the bag. I've had convertible clutches with straps of different lengths so I would expect to see the same with pocket purses.

Both are authentic. Every ad I've seen for the pocket purse shows a 44 inch strap, which is probably the longer one you have. Coach allowed people to switch to a 36 inch strap on request so that might be what happened with the red one. They used different clip manufacturers over the years. Even though these were made within a few years of each other, the strap hardware could have come from different manufacturers.

ETA: I just checked my files and I have pictures of two pocket purses with similar creeds and straps. They match yours; the one with the USA creed has the shorter strap just like yours.
