Hello! Please help me authenticate this coach bag. I cannot provide a link because this was offered to me privately in a facebook group so i'll just attach pictures. The coach creed and serial is not so clear in the picture but i have asked for a clearer pic and i'll post it as soon as available. Also, the lock is something that is not familiar to me. Would appreciate your confirmation before i purchase the bag. Thank you!

It looks good. It is probably a Chrystie bag 9892 from around 1992, if it is about 7 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches. The lock was called a springlock.

Please help me to authenticate this Coach women's leather briefcase. After reviewing as many of the bags in question, I'm concerned about the validity of the bag although nothing seems off about the bag. My concern is now over the serial number which one post somewhere said all of this number is fake. N:308-0875. Tag says Coach Leatherware. I don't see any other identifiers. Thank you for your help!

That serial number is ALWAYS FAKE, no exceptions. The all-number format in genuine Coaches meant that every bag had its own unique serial number, but this particular number has been found in literally HUNDREDS of fakes, and all of them different styles, many of the styles weren't even made during the time that 3+4 number format was used. If you want me to post photos of the 30 or so examples I have on file or can find, let me know.

If you find posts even on the usually undependable internet that says certain Coach serial numbers are always fake, you might want to take it seriously.Or you might want to save the URLs for the two Daria48 Coach Fake Serial Numbers List posted at Ebay that's collected and vetted those numbers for more than ten years. :

Nothing seems off? Start with a fake hangtag, the actual impression marks around the serial number, the font used in the Coach logo, the too-deep creed stamping, and probably even more if we had more pictures of the bag and the other details that indicate counterfeits. But the absolute rock-solid proof is that bogus serial number.. Just because something looks like you expect a Coach to look doesn't mean it's real. If you're re-selling and depending on yourself or your employees to authenticate, you're making a very bad decision, and it could cost you money and customers. If you bought it for your own use, GET YOUR MONEY BACK. And have all Coach purchases authenticated here before you buy.

BTW, can you find the dictionary that spells the word "marKings" with an X instead of a K? And does it have a definition of "full-CRAIN leathers"? Or the official Coach website that makes "Coach bag" all one word?

And then there's punctuation -
no period after "coachbag", "cowhide"and the "A" in U.S.A.
a period after "scratches" when there shouldn't be one.
no comma after "scars"
Oh, and in English, the abbreviation for "Number" is "No", not just "N" and Coach uses standard American English grammar in their creed statements and underscores the "o" just to make it more clear - "No". They DON'T use N followed by a colon.

The pictures a bit higher up in post 24452 show what that creed statement is supposed to look like.

Thank you for taking the time to teach me all the ways that make this not an authentic coach bag. The only thing that made me question it ho early was the use of the word leatherware. Just seemed odd. I sincerely appreciate all of your knowledge! Thanks again for your help!

The word leatherware did appear on older creeds.

Thank you, Whateve! Attached by the way is a clearer pic of the coach creed and serial. The serial reads No. 0319-325. Is the bag still okay? Thank you!
