Hello there! Found this is my closet and thought I would try it as my first rehab. I have others you have authenticated on the way (thank you!) The imprint of the creed worries me as it isn't even, so I was wondering if you would help me out please? I've had it for years.

Item Name (if you know it): Coach Station (?)
Link (if available): None
It measures 9"w x 10"h x 2" d
The serial No is 0381-008
Thank you!

It looks like a genuine clutch from the Kristin collection, probably made between 5 and 7 years ago.

Coach hasn't used solid brass hardware for a long time, they changed to plated brass and other metals like nickel and plated nickel at least 20 years ago except for a handful of bags we've seen from Costa Rica, and even those disappeared some time around 200-2003. There may be some exceptions, but unless the official Coach description actually says "solid brass" it's probably coated.
Thanks, Hyacinth! It's super soft leather. Just a shame that the hardware looks a bit crusty.

It's genuine, made between 1990 and 1993. Imperfect creed and serial number stampings weren't unusual in classic and vintage bags - all that work was done by humans, and older bags can have stamping imperfections. Some are red flags, others are nothing to worry about. And you have nothing to worry about.

You could try doing a Search in the Rehab and Rescue thread in the main Coach forum, it's in the Coach Clubhouse subforum. They've probably come across just about every possible problem that can happen with Coach bags, and maybe someone has a solution. "Kristin hardware" might bring up some posts, I haven't had a chance to check. There are a LOT of posts there and there is at least one older thread that's been closed and archived. The key is usually figuring out what the most effective search terms would be. Go to the last (most recent) page to post.

Thank you so very much, Hyacinth!! I shall endeavor a rehab on the poor thing then! I am so pleased...yay!! I shall head over to rehab land and ask questions. Leather CPR hasn't done anything yet.

Hello--Found this bag at a church rummage sale and afraid it is too good to be true. The texture of the leather seems odd. Could you please authenticate it?

Style: Coach Station Bag
Serial number: C5C-5130
Measurements: 9"L x 10"H x 2"D

The texture is definitely odd, but the creed is genuine. Unless the textured part actually feels damaged, the back makes me think that the pebbled texture was part of a fairly smooth textured piece, apparently the factory decided to use it anyway and thought that a differently-textured flap would make the bag more interesting. The heaviest texture is deliberately positioned so that it's right on the front. Strange, but authentic.

Oh I love this! It looks like pebbled flap Willis! I have never seen one like it! Very unique!!

Ughh!! Just posting a warning to beware!

I've been looking for a leather backpack, style 9405 and over 75% of those I've seen (current and completed) are fake! But the bags are (mostly) the correct style so unless one knows what to look for, they can be easily fooled.

(I'm also very busy reporting the fakes!)
