Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.
For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller and site where listed
    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

It's fine.

ETA: If looking for 9992, there are a ton of fakes around (though not listed ATM)! Be careful. Some are very close.

There's one picture where part of the creed would be visible if the creed were there. I'm guessing that this is a legitimate "designer inspired" bag and the seller is KWS the Coach name. (Key word spamming is reportable but don't report as fake since we can't prove it.)

All you can report it for is Keyword Spamming.

OK, thank you both!

I just picked up this beautiful bag at an estate sale and am hoping you can help me with authentication. It has a slight mustiness, although not too objectionable. The two rivets above the the turnlock need a little tlc. I am not quite sure how to care for this but it is evident with the brass and heavy leather, that it should not be thrown in storage and forgotten. Love at first site. Height 9", width 11 3/4" at top, width 12 3/4" at bottom, depth at base 4". Thank you for the assistance. This forum seems to contain quite a bit of knowledge. I appreciate this.

Note: The PurseForum requests that only members with an extensive knowledge of the brand and authenticating who have over 500 posts participate as authenticators in this AT thread. The moderators reserve the right to remove authentications that do not meet these requirements.

Item Name (if you know it):
    Link (if available):
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
    • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
    • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.

It's a genuine Ali (Coach's official name was Ali Leather Shoulder Flap) from the 2006 65th Anniversary Legacy Collection, and the color is Whiskey. Nice find!

20170628_141807.jpg 20170628_141814.jpg Good afternoon everyone!

I picked up a couple of cheapo clutch bags, and I am wondering if they are authentic.

Item no 1: pink signature with putty (?) leather clutch
Seller: Value Village
Link: In my possession
Comments: this is the bag I feel most likely to be genuine. It feels really well-made. ( but what do I know?)

Authentic mini signature soho capacity wristlet, made for the factory stores.

Sorry, I don't know why the photos are all over the place!

Here is bag number 2:

Item: Mocha(?) leather clutch
Seller: Value Village
Link: in my possession
Comments: the hardware in this bag is tarnished and I'm not sure if it is meant to be solid brass or not. It's definitely coated metal. Fake?

Thanks so much!

Gah. Technology. Here are the rest of the photos for the mocha clutch.View attachment 3747090

It looks like a genuine clutch from the Kristin collection, probably made between 5 and 7 years ago.

Coach hasn't used solid brass hardware for a long time, they changed to plated brass and other metals like nickel and plated nickel at least 20 years ago except for a handful of bags we've seen from Costa Rica, and even those disappeared some time around 200-2003. There may be some exceptions, but unless the official Coach description actually says "solid brass" it's probably coated.
