  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock

Your suspicions are correct. It is fake. The poor buyer probably won't realize it until she tries to resell it.

Thanks for confirming. Maybe the buyer might ask questions if the listing is reported and (hopefully) removed!

I can't recommend a 53bigbooka after this type of history.

Thank you, Hyacinth. I knew that the bag was from 2000 and I would loooove an older bag in great shape if I ever come across one at a decent price. It will be interesting to see how the leather feels compared to my older bags ( 3 from the 90's ). I did also notice the synthetic inner zip which I don't love, but we'll see! Thanks again!

Rambler's Legacy didn't come out until 1998 so you aren't going to find one that is much older. I love the leather on my Rambler's Legacy that was made exactly one year before yours in the same plant. It is one of the prettiest bags I own.

Oh good for you! I must have seen this listing right after it was posted and thought, it won't be around for long at that price and in that condition. I bought a black Plaza last fall on a BIN for about the same price. I was wondering if a fellow tPfer would make the score :smile:

Hi! I went ahead and won this vintage Coach on eBay because I thought the creed looked real, but now that I've received it I would love some second opinions. I've never seen this style before, although the shape of the flap reminds me of the Kent bag.

Apologies for the picture quality...I couldn't manage to get a clearer picture of the creed and I lightened a couple of the other pictures to show detail. The bag is about 9" high and 8" wide with a 21" strap drop, although it's a little misshapen from shipping/probably storage so the measurements might be a little off.

Genuine. It's a "sister" of the Kent Bag, called a Shelton Bag. Style 9917 and made at the same time, 1992-93.

It appears authentic. It is probably an watermelon tote or watermelon satchel from the early 80s. We need measurements and additional details in order to identify exactly. Does it have a zipper closure or an open top? For items bought online, you should always post a link to the listing plus the seller's ID. Read the first post of this thread to see what we require.
