Thank you and be safe!

Thanks Whateve and Hyacinth! I've learned so much from youz :giggles: and this forum. Bummer about the Legacy Zip but I do remember seeing a post some time back about how wide the pen slots are supposed to be. I guess I was bound to get a bad apple eventually.
You're welcome! It's the J8Y prefix that you should avoid. I probably wouldn't have noticed the pen slot width if it hadn't been for that. Most fakes I've seen have pen slots that are too wide rather than too narrow.

Are these pictures good enough to try and authenticate?

Lot of 3 Coach Key Chains

item number: (20126283)

seller: Goodwill

Link:

http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions/Lot-of-3-Coach-Key-Chains-20126283.html

Yep. They're all cheap fakes.

The pink 2-piece outfit was never made by Coach

The single flower has badly-shaped Cs, the linked ones aren't quite right especially the joined serifs

The multiple hearts also have badly-shaped Cs

Always pay very careful attention to the shapes of the Cs - while I've seen Coach website pics of a few newer genuine keychains with very sloppy Cs, almost all the genuine ones have Cs that are identical to and as precise as the ones used in the Signature C patterns.

ETA - there WAS a single flower keychain but a careful comparison of the Cs will show the differences. The top one with the white petals is the Goodwill fake, the bottom one with the blue petals is real.

I believe this listing from linda*s***stuff (aka lindas stuff ) is fake.

What's even more bothersome than a seller who lists fakes is an authentication service that deems fakes as authentic.

This listing (as her others) states that it "has been authenticated by My Poupette. The world's oldest online authenticator!"

Here's the creed from the above listing:

It looks just like the creed that Hyacinth deemed as fake in the following post, #9830:

I agree, fake. Also the placement of the turnlock is a few millimeters too high on the flap, and the shape of the leather tabs on the sides for the strap rings doesn't look right either, they should be much rounder on the bottom. Compare the fake to this listing for a genuine Pocket Purse:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-Pocke...518?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51cc620b86

But the BIGGEST and most damning red flag is that the inside pocket in a GENUINE Pocket Purse is OPEN, not zipped. Here are catalog pages from 1987 and 1997.

ETA - Damning piece of evidence #2 - and the 9755 didn't have any seam on the base either.

Even more proof, as if we even needed more, that "authentications" of any Coach product by MYPOUPETTE aka My Poupette are COMPLETELY USELESS AND SHOULD NEVER BE TRUSTED. They constantly "authenticate" obvious fakes as genuine and should never be used for any kind of Coach product authentication..

REPORT AWAY, BB !!!!!! :D

Wow, that is so obviously fake. I'm surprised that anyone who calls themselves an authenticator could make that kind of mistake. A rookie could google the style number to see what it should look like. Maybe they wouldn't catch the creed mistakes but they should have at least noticed the zipper and bottom seam. I've reported it. Let's see if ebay pays attention.

please authenticate my new kelsey bag. if its fake, there is a hope i can return to seller in a week.

thanks :)
I believe the bag is authentic. The "defect" you refer to and show appears to be simply a point at which something was leaning against the leather and made an indentation. Leather is soft and it's possible something was pressing on that spot.

There should be a tag sewn into the pocket lining with a serial/style number.

The only thing I've not seen before is the bubble wrap around the handles but that's possibly done by the seller to protect them from rubbing when she shipped.
