BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.

  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)

  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

It was made in January 1998 so it is nearly vintage.

Comments: couple extra closeups since these are highly faked, true color is less purple toned than in pics

AFAIK it's not a Bonnie Cashin design and that actual bag definitely wasn't made while she was associated with Coach. It may not even have been made in NYC, Coach had started opening up more plants outside of NYC and even outside the continental US starting in 1988. I don't have any catalogs showing the exact year it was made but Coach did a lot of remaking previously discontinued styles during the 1990s. It was actually made between 1990 and 1993.

The second Saddle Pouch is from sometime between the early 1980s and 1987. I'm not going to even try to guess the color because it looks very faded on the outside and the color will probably deepen after a bath and conditioning.

Both are genuine. Since the measurements are almost the same they're probably the same style., the Saddle Pouches came in 3 different sizes.

There is no need to post your request multiple times. If I've skipped your request it is because it is out of my area of expertise. Wait for another authenticator, and remember we are volunteers and don't check this thread constantly.

It looks ok, but you might want to wait for more opinions. The fakes of that style that I've seen usually have a few fairly obvious mistakes but this one doesn't seem to have any.

Thanks, Hyacinth - I appreciate your taking a look. It seems to check out against another one BB authenticated for me, but I never know with the newer styles.

CORRECTION: Please reuqest a picture of the white tag with production information from inside the bag, possibly in the zipper pocket as well as a picture of the made in label.

Sometimes posts get missed so reposting after 12-24 hours goes by wouldn't hurt, but as @whateve said, we volunteer our time and knowledge and have lives, families, jobs, obligations outside TPF.
