I was just checking ebay for the same serial numbers my fake coach bag has and I found one, but the picture of creed is not very clear. I'm wondering if there are other indications to determine the bag to be fake. Thank you!

The serial number alone is a major red flag. A style introduced in 1999 won't have a 1996 year code. Or silver-color hardware either. And everywhere I look all that can be seen is sloppy stitching.

Hyacinth,
Thanks for checking the listing. Yes, when I posted pictures of my bag whateve mentioned about the year code. But without the clear creed picture we can't do much? At least I know the serial number I always should avoid!
Anyway thanks again!

We don't report items we can't prove are fake. Even though the listing mentions a serial number that is fake, the seller could be mistaken, so without a picture of the creed or other visible evidence that an item is fake, it can't be reported.

The prefix J6D can be valid on other bags and the style number 9135 is also valid, but the two things together should never happen.

The listing's already been removed, but I could see enough of the serial number to verify that it matched what the seller posted in the listing. I don't report anything based ONLY on what the seller says without actually seeing the proof for myself, and we never suggest anyone else do it either. Sellers can and do make mistakes.

But after looking at probably ten thousand different creed photos over the years, reading those poorly-stamped or worn down numbers gets easier.

Good morning,

Can anyone authenticate this bag?
I am actually not looking for another black bag. At all. So if anyone sees anything weird about this bag, you would really be doing me a favor by calling it out...

Item: Coach Willis Station bag, black
Listing:
162506974791
Seller: arc20001
Link:http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Nice-Vtg-Black-Leather-Coach-Crossover-Messenger-Bag-Purse/162506974791?_trksid=p2050601.c100085.m2372&_trkparms=aid=111001&algo=REC.SEED&ao=1&asc=20140211132617&meid=84dab7ff7664478f8daf27602c59b49a&pid=100085&rk=1&rkt=4&sd=162506974791&clkid=4529657227545890248&_qi=RTM2247625

Thanks!

Looks genuine, but just a suggestion - never trust a black Coach that's a little too shiny.

Regarding ccooke5327 and the listing for the 99.9% certain counterfeit Coach 9135 bag, I wonder whether the seller knows her bags might be fake and purposely shows poor/incomplete creed photos.

Unfortunately, the seller did the same thing in this listing for which some poor buyer paid $120 plus $19 shipping. The creed, although difficult to read shows a (always invalid prefix) serial number.

I was looking through this seller's other items after finding a very obvious fake:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...oach-fakes-here.824098/page-279#post-31326309

I can't read the creed (and I suspect in many listings that the seller purposely avoids showing it or posts lousy pictures purposely) but the stamp is crooked and off-center and the leather texture is odd.

Sorry, I tried enlarging the creed and serial but it still doesn't help. That style was made for a long time and probably in at least 5 or 6 different plants so that could explain any oddities with the creed. And the front of the turnlock at least looks right but I don't know how many fake briefcases also had the correct turnlocks. It looks like the plant code is an X but I can't tell if the creed says it's from the DR or the US.
