Not only a lack of pictures, but WHOSE pictures are they? None of the other recent photos, or at least the main Gallery photos, by that seller have the same style or use an animal print throw as background. And WHY are several of them watermarked "CANDY"? On top of those problems, the style number 9988 in the listing title belongs to a Saddle Bag, which the bag in the listing definitely is NOT. It also has silver strap grommets with brass-color buckles.

DUE TO THEM HAVING LISTED SEVERAL PROVABLE FAKES AS WELL AS A QUESTIONABLE BAG WITH AN INCORRECT NUMBER AND PROBABLY FAKE STRAP AND PHOTOS THAT DON'T LOOK AT ALL LIKE THE OTHER ONES THE SELLER HAS POSTED, I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING FROM EBAY SELLER " 1juan4.8 "

Hello everyone,
I picked up a couple of bags at the flea market and I was hoping that you kind people could tell me whether they're genuine. Both bags are in my possession.

The first one is a Janice Legacy (from 2006?), and it measures approximately 9" wide by about 9" tall to the hardware or around 7" at the low point of the curve, and 4" deep and the strap is 47.5" total.

The second one, I don't know the style name. It's a little bag, only 7" wide by 6" tall by 2" deep, and the strap is about 50" long.

As ever, thank you very much for your time and expertise!
Both are authentic. The second is a mini bag #9825 from around 1989.

Please verify authenticity before I place a bid on these bags. Thank you always!

You'll have to be patient. We aren't all experts on all styles. If your request is skipped by me it is because you are asking about newer styles. I specialize in vintage and older items. Keep in mind we volunteer our time and are under no obligation to respond to any request.

As you all can tell, I really like the Duffle Sac and I'm trying to obtain a variety of brown variations. This was recently posted and I believe it is authentic, however, I'm concerned about the pebble like texture on the leather. I read recently that a lot of fakes take on that texture due to the leather being stretched to be as pliable and buttery as Coach leather. Can I get some insight?

It's authentic. Some leathers are more pebbly than others. Generally the more used a bag is, the smoother the leather becomes. I would be very concerned about those cuts the seller calls "light surface wear." That looks like a cat scratched it, and it isn't fixable in my opinion.

Another thing - usually when the leather on fakes is stretched to make it more pliable, it develops an "elephant-skin" texture rather than a pebbled look. By that we mean long, almost parallel lines that can resemble stretch marks from pregnancy or weight changes. See the examples of overstretched and overprocessed leather below that we've found on fakes.

Regarding 1juan4.8 's "questionable bag" with an incorrect number, probably fake strap, mix of silver and gold hardware and pictures that appear to have been stolen from "somewhere" else this questionable bag, this bag also has indentations on the underside of the female part of the turnlock.

I suspect that one of the recent negative feedbacks 1juan4.8 received might have been for this bag though it's impossible to tell because he has private listings, another HUGE RED FLAG!!

Yep, I saw that but wasn't completely sure if those were indents or just a trick of the lighting.

I'll never understand why Ebay even allows Private listings unless it's in certain catagories like kinky sex toys. Even though Ebay's Feedback system has devolved to where it's about as useful as boobs on a bull, it still could be an effective protection against twisted sellers if Ebay hadn't tried to cover their own heinies and make the whole process a sick, twisted joke.
