Hi all... I'm just not sure about this bag... the first 3 of the serial number looks wrong. It's a Soho Tote, and I couldn't find the color in my 1996 catalogs that I have.

It looks good. The spacing of the first 3 numbers is exactly right for that plant. The color might be chamois. I see it in earlier catalogs but they might have still been making it by then.

Chamois is listed as one of the Soho Bag colors in my Spring 1996 catalog. That's the same catalog that shows the Coach Limited Edition Lexus.

I purchased this Coach Bag at a Thrift Store, measuring apx 9"x9"x2.5" with a 22" strap drop. The creed inside is hard to read, it is made in the United States. I would like to confirm that it is authentic. Thanks

I'm pretty certain it is authentic but since it is a bean bag creed, I'd like to see a close up picture of the snap.

There have been some really accurate but still fake Bean Bag creeds, but this one seems to be ok. Like Whateve said, a picture of stamping on the "male" part of the magnetic snap would confirm it but it looks like a genuine Lindsay Bag style 9888 from around 1990.

Listing # 16582123 (Tradesy)
Seller: "Britt"

Both are genuine, the one on Ebay was made in Turkey in 1998, the Tradesey one was made in China in 2011 and may have a slightly different feel to the leather than the older one.

Thank you so much! How would you describe the different "feel" to the leather? Any important differences between these I should consider? I sure appreciate your help!

The leather might be a bit stiffer than on the older bags. Coach made several "generations" of some of their classic styles and some have had more positive comments than others. I'm not really sure how the ones from 2011 compare, but I had bought one of the 2006 remakes and ended up returning it because the leather wasn't quite as nice as my classic and vintage versions. Maybe other posters have tried that version and can comment on it.

ETA - for instance here are 3 pages of posts from 2011 about the same line of remakes although NOT the same style bag as you're asking about. Read all 3 pages, the buyers who posted towards the end of the discussion didn't seem happy with the leather when compared to the classic version, the leather was thinner than the older styles. The thinner leather on a large bag like the Duffle Sac in that discussion might make it more comfortable to carry because of the lighter weight, but in a style like the City Bag the lighter weight wouldn't be much of an advantage.

It's a genuine Shelburne Flap from 1998
Thank you so much! By the way, I have received refunds on the two counterfeit bags you previously reviewed for me; thank you for your help with those, too.

Oh that was really helpful! Thank you! Sounds like I might be better off with a 90's version. I'll give it a shot. :)

I would always take a 90s or an early 2000s bag over a later bag. The leather is thinner and not as supple. I did have a 1999 China Willis that had nice leather. Some of the classics made around 2013 that I saw weren't nice at all. Sometimes the leather is too shiny.

It seems genuine, but there aren't any measurements, and I'm not seeing any photo that looks like it might be the front of the bag so I have no idea what style it is. Maybe a Duffle Drawstring from the very early 1990s style 4022 from the Lightweight line, but measurements would help. At the very least we need to know the height of the bag, base to top edge, and the width across the base.
Hyacinth I took measurements and I found it... it's a 1990 drawstring fling from the lightweight collection. Thanks for your help.
