Comments: We were wondering about the authenticity of the style number 5470 in the facebook group. It came up on a strange post listed on poshmark showing two different purses, but with this style number. The creed indicates that it is crafted in Italy of finest french calfskin leather. Is this purse authentic and if so, what is its name? Thank you so much for the information!

Yep, if I hadn't been thinking of swapping or "loaning" its strap to another bag I'd just bought it probably would have escaped me too. My Purse Room is on the north side of the building and doesn't get much light so I took it into another room and then noticed the font. AND the back of the turnlock. :crybaby:

That's what happened to me on one of mine. What makes it worse is that I owned several authentic versions of the same style, so I should have been able to see the difference. On the other I felt something rough on the underside of the buckle, and when I held it under the light saw the "solid brass" engraving. Then I realized the font was off.

ETA: I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a purse room!

Sorry to be off-topic, but been meaning to say thanks to you both for sharing that you both have a purse room!
How cool - that is something I dream of creating, right now it's my closet.
(But so my husband would be agreeable I'd have to call it a Guest Bedroom for Coach Bags.)

The bag in the listing you've linked is authentic.

IMO, Poshmark is a cesspool of fakes, the admin on that site doesn't care whether sellers peddle fakes nor do they act on reports of fakes and I (personally) don't recommend Poshmark nor would I do business with that site.

That said, I'd be interested in seeing the listing on Poshmark.

Thank you so much, BeenBurned. I guess it's alright if it is less than 20 years old (lol) since this is a discontinued color that I am considering. Appreciate your help .
You aren't going to find a true vintage Willis with nickel hardware. I don't think the first ones came out until 1998, like this one.

Haha, good to know! Thanks! I have not shopped on poshmark, it seems like it can be a pain if something goes awry. Here is the original post: https://poshmark.com/listing/Coach-Flap-Shoulder-Bag-5839ec687fab3ae09108be57?utm_source=ext_fb

I tried that - my DH didn't see it quite the same way. I had to mollify him by making room for his golf clubs and fishing gear. :giggle:

It;s from one of the Manhattan Collections but I've never found a catalog with the names of those styles.

I don't think the top picture in the PM listing belongs with the others.

I think the PM seller erred and is showing a picture of the front of a different bag. The creeds and backs are identical.
