I'm not sure I am posting this correctly, I hope I am.

I recently purchased a vintage Coach on eBay. It is a tan bag, possibly Bonnie Cashin. The number is No 992-7129. It reads Coach Leatherware inside and is made in New York. Its appearance is consistent with the age of the purse. I own a handful of vintage Coach bags, but am no way a "collector," so I do not trust my eye for distinguishing a fake.

Now that I have the bag in hand, I see two things that make me question its authenticity.
1) The corners are sewn oddly. They do not run at straight angles; they are not square. I hope you can see it in the photo. I have NEVER seen this in a Coach.

2) There are obvious lines where the leather has been died that are visible from this inside. I do not need to "pull" at the seems to see this, I simply opened the purse and there are the lines.

Take a look at the photos and tell me what you think.
Many thanks.View attachment 3551515 View attachment 3551516 View attachment 3551517 View attachment 3551518 View attachment 3551519 View attachment 3551520
Hi, you aren't posting in the right place. We have a dedicated thread for authentications here: http://forum.purseblog.com/threads/authenticate-this-coach.889527/
You don't have the photos we need for authentication. In addition to the photos you've posted, we need a picture of the overall bag and a clear picture of the creed. If the bag was purchased online from a site where the photos are viewable, you should post a link to the listing and the seller's name. Since you bought it on ebay, this information should be available. The first post of the Authenticate thread spells out what we need.

From your pictures, I can tell you this isn't a Bonnie Cashin. If it has a creed, it was made after Bonnie Cashin left the company. It was made sometime in the late 70s or the 80s. Coach used those kind of corners in several bags. It allows the bag to expand. One of the most common bags they used them in is a convertible clutch. The white marks at the seams are normal as well. Often the suede side of the leather was shaved next to the seam to make it easier to sew.

Both sellers use stolen Coach (and other designers') stock images, a copyright violation.

Seller #1 uses the stock images in her gallery (first) picture in many listings although there seem to be her own pictures included too. There's no reason for using stock images when you own a camera and can do your own work.

As for myb13's listing, there aren't enough pictures to authenticate it though there aren't any red flags showing in the pictures that are her own.

Regarding seller #2, 2006happyface, I can't recommend (nor authenticate) a seller who is too lazy to do the work involved in preparing a good listing. There's no way to authenticate a bag when there aren't any pictures of the bag! Who knows what you'll receive.

Note that 100% feedback doesn't necessarily mean that the seller sells authentic. It means that the buyer is happy but often, the buyer doesn't know when they received fakes.

Hi everyone,
Can you please authenticate this if you have time.
Thanks a lot.

There;s no photo of the creed patch and serial number, and we can't authenticate any style as widely faked as this one without those photos. The photo(s) should also include some of the lining. The required photos for an authentication are listed in post 1 of this thread.

Please don't post 2 authentication requests for the same item within a half-hour of each other, and remember that It's after midnight in most of the US except the West Coast.

If I am doing this wrong, please let me know. This is my first time asking on here. I recently purchased this Coach on Etsy and some of the areas of the bag were not in the photos in the listing and look a little off to me now that I have it in my possession. Would anyone be able to give me their opinion on its authenticity. It was described as a vintage Coach Saddle Pouch. It did not have a style number in the listing but I looked that up and it appears to be #9590. Thanks!

Yes, it's genuine and one of the Saddle Pouches. There were 3 styles each with a different style number but we need the bag's measurements to determine which one it is. If you read the first post in this thread, the information needed for authentications is listed there, so please be sure to look over post number One when you have time.

I'm not sure why you're concerned about the corners, that's the way this style was made. It's a genuine Convertible Clutch, style 9635, from the mid-1980s.

I apologize. The measurements are 9" x 7" x 1.5"
Thank you!
It's a saddle pouch medium 9590. For future authentications, post a link to the listing and the seller's ID.
