I have a bit more information on the Estee Lauder item.

Just prior to the holiday season in 2010, Estee Lauder and Coach collaborated and came out with an Estee Lauder cosmetic set packed in the Coach pouch. It was available for $35-40-ish when customer bought some dollar amount worth of EL products. (I don't recall the amount that one needed to spend on Estee Lauder in order to buy the Coach/EL set.)
This was the full set:

Sorry if this is OT.. I also have these Coach/EL make up bags and if I'm not mistaken they came in 3 different colors, and each department store had different colors (and slightly different contents). I remember going to different dept stores to get all 3 colors thinking they will make great gifts.. but ended up keeping them all because I wanted to add them to my collection lol Then I saw them at my outlet about 6 months later.

That;s because some links include the same characters the forum's software uses as codes for various Smileys. Most of the time if you click the link, the underlying code is still good and the link works. I didn't have any trouble bringing up the listing using the link you posted.
Indeed you are correct, but I'll second the beenburned's recommendation: for eBay links, it's usually easier just to get rid of all the claptrap that comes after the listing number in the url (starting with the ?hash=...). What remains usually is sufficient for launching the correct page.

First time poster on the Coach Forum. Please help in authenticating this wristlet that is in my posession.

Length: 5-3/4"
Width: 3-1/4"
Depth: 3/4"

No Creed or Serial # on item. YKK Zipper. Material seems to be cross gain leather.View attachment 3492482View attachment 3492495

Your photos aren't showing up.

And so you know - YKK zippers have absolutely NOTHING to do with whether or not a Coach or any other brand item that uses them is genuine. Read the Signature under my posts. Don't EVER base any authentication on a zipper stamp.

Yeah im having some trouble getting them to show.

Also thank you for that piece of information, for I was unaware of this. I will also try to upload the pics correctly.

I don't think it was very limited in terms of production numbers. There were bunches of these in this color and the light khaki color on ebay. I don't know if Coach sold the excess cases separately at the outlets or if the recipients kept the makeup and sold the cases.

Both. They did sell the leftover cases at the outlets but removed the Estee Lauder charm from them. And some sellers used the makeup and sold the cases.

Thanks for this additional info ladies...my inquiring mind needs all the info I can get :)

Hello I'm back. This time with a vintage kit bag and a newer wallet. The bag feels like really nice leather and the hardware feels really nice, I'm just a little worried about the creed stamp.

ETA the bag measures 6"w x 8"h x 2.5"d with a 21.5" drop length.

This is the wallet. I'm working on another one with a small cartouche stamp on the inside and I was a little worried not seeing one on this bad boy. Thanks again for all your help!

The wallet is fine. It may have been the main part of a checkbook wallet and the missing checkpook insert may have had the stamp.

I don't believe it's authentic. My comments are in regard to comps which differ from the creed in question.

Please wait for others to chime in.

Yes it seems like the other creed stamps are all at the same depth vs the deep lettering in mine and the shallow cartouche.

Sorry, I'm going to disagree with BeenBurned on this.

Starting with the bag itself - it has the correct strap hardware, which isn't the standard D-ring, it's more like the Equestrian horsebit style with the small screw closing or the handle and strap rings on the Willises. it would surprise me if the fakers got that right, especially since that kind of ring is more expensive. The rest of the bag's details seem ok too.

As for the creed - the depth of the stamping depends on the thickness or softness of the leather and how much pressure is applied during the stamping. Whether or not the serial number has overstamping marks, or whether the letters in the Coach logo are as clear in one bag as in another is strictly a matter of pressure, nothing more.

Every other detail of the creed and serial number is correct. The fonts used in both are exactly the same, the dash after the C plant code is longer than the one used in the B and D plant stamps, and that kind of exactness isn't found on fakes from the mid-90s. That overly-long dash in the serial that's almost inside the open part of the C is unique to the C plant and is as distinctive as a fingerprint.

Here's another M5C- creed from a Soft Kelly Bag - no overstamping lines, a fairly indistinct Coach logo - and yet it's genuine and has an outlet stamp. The details are just like the one in the bag in question, the only difference is the depth of the stamping. If you allowed for that and compared every line and curve of the 2 different serial numbers with a micrometer they would be exactly the same. Below that one are 2 from a few months earlier, again the same except for the depth of the stamping - with is controlled by the person DOING the stamping.

The LAST one, for comparison, is the bag being asked about. Allowing for tiny differences because of angles and lighting, they all look identical to me, Even though it's barely noticeable, they all have exactly the same slightly oversized gap before and after the word "in" in the second line.

I agree with you. I was going to say the same thing. In my opinion, the bag is authentic.
