No apologies are necessary. I should have kept my mouth shut! But in my own defense, I did recommend waiting for you and Whateve to chime in.

Sorry. View attachment 3493087

No need to apologize, it's these kinds of details that fascinate me, so there are usually multiple examples of creed and serial stamps in my files with as many variations as I can find. Can you say "anal-retentive"? I knew you could.

Ohhhh that is a **smart** idea. I authenticate a lot of Coach bags (and other brands) at my job, and I appreciate all of your feedback on the ones I'm iffy on . A creed patch database to look back on would be very helpful.

I actually was authenticating bags and looking at creed patches in my sleep last night, lol.

Some time soon, I need to print off all of this information one way or another and use it at work. We get "vintage" all leather bags in all the time and they're so much harder to authenticate than the newer ones.

Verbal info helps a little but to really nail the close copies you need a very large file of photos for comparison.

And every plant is different, every style has different details and quirks, and most important - "the most consistent thing about Coach is their inconsistency."

Hello Everyone!
I have spent the last few days reading all of comments and trying my best to soak in the information that you all share through these threads. I am new to tPF. I am a big fan of older Coach purses and purchased one recently online through ebay. I wish that I had found this forum earlier. I have some questions about my purchase. Two things make me question the authenticity of the bag although it appears to be of very good quality leather. The first now that I have look through this thread is the Coach Creed. The number on the creed is K3H-9951. I saw that this could be a possible fake. The second is the number of grommet holes in the strap as I cannot find another 9951 with only three holes as is in the bag that I purchased. I am a bit sad that that this bag may be unauthentic. Please advise. I have included the original post for the bag I am not sure if it can be viewed since it is sold.

I think we now know that any bag with a K3H prefix is fake, as is yours. You are right, the strap should have 4 grommets. However, straps can be removed and exchanged between bags. There are probably other things wrong with the bag but they aren't shown in the pictures.

Thank you Whateve for your response. I didn't know about the creed number until after purchasing.

I will do much more research prior to my next purchase.
You are covered by ebay buyer protection. You should be able to get your money back. If the seller hasn't shipped yet, ask her to refund you. If she has, open a return for not as described once you get it.

Hello Ladies,
Please authenticate the following items:
Item: COACH Brown Leather Purse (33689153)
Listing #: 33689153
Seller: Goodwill

Item: Coach Coin Purse Bag Black Leather
Listing #: 272372558111
Seller: princessblndy2000

Comments: What's the name of this item? If it is authentic was it made for the Coach factory? I've seem similar items that appear to be smaller in size and don't have "Leatherware Est. 1941" on the front. Is there a style number?

As always, thanks in advance! :flowers:
