I'm not good with acronyms either. Whenever, I saw AFAIK I was reading as A FAKE! Reasons being, I read carp as a nice way of saying poop. And a couple of other examples that I can't remember right now.

AFAIK = as far as I know - Thanks BeenBurned for explaning!

Don't worry Brookehand56 it will get easier. I'm still consider myself new and find some things difficult, but sooo much better than when I first got here!

I'm looking for a red station bag. There are currently 4 listed if you search based on that.

Seller: hal9000v3

Seller: pollizettiarocks

Seller: 626386
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-Vinta...765?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e99a962a5

So my question is, is the second one really worth that much more than the other two that are listed for so much less? Am I missing something?
They all look good. The two that are less are at auction and could be bid higher. The condition of the BIN bag is better than the other two. If I were buying one of them, I would decide whether it was important to have the adjustable strap only available on the most recent or if I wanted the one that was the most vintage or if I wanted the one in the best condition.

Verification please?

Comments: Is it just the pictures or does that flap seem like a sombrero? Also, is that a valid color for the vintage serial number?
Coach didn't make any vintage bags in raspberry pink. They did make bags in red, vermillion (red-orange) and burgundy. I can't tell what the bag is supposed to look like in those pictures. I imagine that it is overstuffed to have the flap look like that. I can't even think of a style that it could be.

Yes! I've thought that too about AFAIK. There is someone on the forum who uses PLMK or something like that all the time. Every time I see it, I have to Google it because I can never remember what it stands for.

For general acronyms, the urban dictionary is your friend. It won't help with tpf specific acronyms though.

Here's an interesting one: SWIM = someone who isn't me.

It doesn't look familiar to me either, the style OR the color. The third photo shows a part of the unfinished suede from the inside and it looks blotchy, as if it was re-dyed. It might be one of the Lightweights since there's just a hint of "Made in USA" at the bottom of the creed (or I could be imagining it), but those lousy pictures aren't helping at all. There's nothing that shows the actual shape or details of the purse.

DUH....what is "HG"????
I was lurking in a thread where there was constant reference to "my HG bag" as in "I've found it" or "I'm looking for it". I didn't get it until suddenly The Monty Python theme came to mind!

Is PLMK please let me know?

When would you use SWIM?

This is just my own personal opinion but TBH, I don't see a problem with someone trying to sell something for more than original retail and I (personally) don't think it's nervy.

I like deals as much as the next gal but when I find steals on items that I can't use and are HTF, I list for more than what I paid. And often, HTF items sell for several times what they originally cost. (See this listing as an example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-Comic...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 )

We don't know when the seller bought the bag but if she purchased it new and paid full price, her $119 price might barely allow her to break even after ebay, paypal, etc.

Be honest. If and when you sell it and if the other sells for close to the $100+ she's looking for, would you sell yours for just $25?

Thanks for this, BeenBurned...your points are certainly valid...and well taken. I was sticker-shocked and hasty in making my earlier comment, and I apologize for not being more considerate. And yeah, if I did sell, I'd ask at least $25 :)

I just can't figure this out. Maybe i will. I'm a computer geek and I can't even work a forum.....UGH

The layout of this site can be confusing too. Did you already check the FAQs section for info on posting and adding attachments? Keep in mind too that there's a size limit on photos.
And once you get used to it, they'll shut the site down for a while to make an "improvement" and the learning curve will start over.

Yes, that's PLMK. The first time I heard that one was from a Listia mod who used it all the time but just LMK. She didn't have the courtesy to use the "P" manners. (But then, it's Listia - the site that allows fakes and bans those who try to help, so why am I surprised?)

I never heard of SWIM.

It's like crack, I tell you! I just happened to wander through Etsy and found a green station bag and a brown suede hippie flap! ARGH!

But thanks for the info. :D
