I know some members don't mind that a seller has a history of selling (or mixing) fakes but I like to let them know in case it makes a difference who they buy from.

Just last week, I reported 4 fake Coach bags that orange-yellow had listed and in looking back, I saw (at the time) there was a history.

In fact, this Hall of Shame post and the next from March, 2014 show some of her long history, clearly going back over 3 years:
http://forum.purseblog.com/threads/...coach-fakes-here.824098/page-70#post-26411125

And this is another post where she had fakes (January 2014):
http://forum.purseblog.com/threads/authenticate-this-coach.818914/page-643#post-26028279

And an earlier (May 2013) Hall of shame post:
http://forum.purseblog.com/threads/...oach-fakes-here.430751/page-668#post-24602051

Be careful if buying from orange-yellow.

The bag in the above listing is authentic but this is another seller with a history of listing fakes. My records show multiple reports from 2013 and 2014 from this seller.
Thank you for letting me know. I think I will stay clear of all that as I wouldn't want to support any dishonest seller. I really appreciate the info. Thank you.

Just an update on this bag. I received it and it was so gorgeous. However, there was the strongest perfume odor to it. I asked before hand and was told no odors. Perfume smells are a big no no for me. I tried to air it out, but the perfume odor remained. Sadly I had to return it.

This is sad to hear, I had to do that once with a Coach bag I bought. It wasn't perfume however, the owner said that she stored it with several dryer sheets in it. It positively reeked! Why do people feel the need to do this? I often wonder about the heavy perfume smells and why they're there, don't you? Did someone spill a bottle inside the bag?

I just want to comment that listing a fake (or multiple fakes) doesn't necessarily mean that the seller is "dishonest" but rather, that she certainly isn't doing her research and verifying authenticity prior to listing. You'd think after having had listings removed in the past would open her eyes, but I guess not!

Hi experts! Please take a look at this Willis.. i am wondering if creed is correct. I noticed before that plant B seems to show inconsistent lettering and formats. I think i have seen Sonoma's that were stamped as plant B and from 1995 and "Coach" was already placed in a smaller cartouche. This Willis still shows the larger older stamp with "Leatherwear".. Could they have used different stamps at the same time, especially during transitional years, or use the older stamp earlier in the year and then updating later? Also, was there a Willis before 1994? Sorry if it was already discussed.

thanks in advance for the info

If you look at the 2 different creed stamps, one is for the standard glove-tanned cowhide, and the newer one was used for the "tumbled" pebbled leather Sonomas. The descriptions of the leathers are different so the creed stamps are different.

I am still confident that the wallet is authentic just as I was nearly a week ago.

I see that you were very concerned about a Longchamp also, even after it was authenticated and deemed as genuine. Seriously, if buying from a reseller is going to stress you out so much, you might feel more comfortable buying directly from the store. That way, you can compare the wallets, find one without a pucker in the lining or one that the zipper is perfectly aligned.

The issues you're concerned with are quality issues and NOT authenticity ones.

I can't answer your question about rubbing of hardware on the Longchamp but I will tell you that at Coach's pricepoint, you won't find perfection. These aren't $800 Louis Vuitton wallets!

Hello BeenBurned,

I just feel curious so i asked to you once more. And yes, i also already checked my LC bag from another LC thread. And after it was authenticated by one of the experts, i still gave one more question because i felt curious (simply only wanted to know, not doubted the verdict from the authenticator) but nevertheless however i feel glad after all knowing the authenticator's answer and 100% believe it. Just give additional question because i am curious. Same as this one. Hahaha. Sorry if i bothered too much. And thanks for the explanation BeenBurned.

No problem. I do understand that it's stressful to buy from strangers when you don't know whether they're honest or not. And while many of us do buy online and many of us have been fooled by fakes in the past, those of us who still shop online have decided that we do have the stamina to deal with it.

And while there's nothing wrong with being concerned, there are others who just can't take the stress or they just don't feel comfortable putting all their faith into a stranger's opinion of authenticity even if that stranger has more experience than they.

Every buyer is different and has different levels of tolerance in the chances they're willing to take.

I don't know how many items you've bought online but based on what I saw, it looks like you did just fine on the Longchamp and on the Coach.

Happy shopping and good luck.

I bought a bag on Etsy that smelled of perfume. I had specifically asked about smells before I bought it, and was told it didn't smell. However, I put the bag and some aquarium charcoal in a closed plastic box for a month or so. It smells fine now. I didn't want to return it, a grey Willis in otherwise perfect condition. I'd been looking for one for several months.
