CHEERS! S.

Good afternoon. Found this bag in one of the projects-awaiting-attention bins. Would appreciate both confirmation of authenticity as well as the correct name and style number. As always, thanks for the expert feedback.

Item: Medium Tote (smaller version of 9780 Large Tote?)
Listing number: N/A
Seller: In my possessionBrown Medium Tote.jpg Brown Medium Tote bottom.jpg Brown Medium Tote interior.jpg Brown Medium Tote creed.jpg
Link: N/A
Comments: Size: 12-1/2" long x 14-1/2" tall x 3-1/2" deep. 11" drop double straps. Single zippered compartment with small slip pocket. I don't believe that this style and generation has been faked, but would like that affirmed prior to starting work on it.

It looks like a Zipper Tote # 9785. Here's the 1987 Holiday catalog photo. It looks genuine to me, so far I don't remember any stamped Made in NYC fakes.9785_Zipper Tote-Holiday 1987-a.jpg

ETA - It's not in the 1986 Holiday catalog OR in the 1988 Summer book, so that seems to narrow the possible manufacture date down to 1987 plus or minus a few months.

All I know is what I posted before and the style number of the bag it probably came from which is also in my earlier post. Maybe someone else can answer.

Thanks for the confirm and the catalog page. Another welcome addition to my (growing) files. So 1987 it is then: the end of the MADE IN NYC USA era.

I can't help with more information but I can comment on your "inbox."

You no longer have an inbox. PMs are now called "conversations" and you can have an unlimited number of them without having to empty the box.

Thanks for that information, BB! I haven't had a chance to read that HUGE introduction thread on the features of the new system.

At least it's a small help not to have to be deleting PMs all the time to make room for new ones.

Now I just need to figure out how to go back to older posts by number like we used to be able to do.

I love the idea of not having to save and empty messages. That's HUGE!! But I'm not crazy about not getting copies of my own responses (even when I cc myself) in my email.

To go back to an older post, you can do it a couple of ways. Next to someone's quote, there's a red "up" arrow. That will bring you to that post, similar to how you used to click on their user ID to do the same.

Also, it still works if you copy the post number and click. It'll go back to that post: #15728 BeenBurned, Today at 1:53 AM

OK, I'll keep those in mind. I was thinking more like going back when you don't know the other poster or post number, like when you think you answered a similar question about 3 or 4 months ago and try to go back to that approximate time period to try and find it. I usually try to save old posts that I may want to refer to again in the future by saving the URL, but if the default number of posts per page changes, that URL will change too. For a while this time I thought I'd lost all my old links when the number of posts per page here kept changing a few days ago.

Off to "Read The F****** Manual ..." ;)
