How about if you send the back of that content tag? So far that Made in Turkey looks odd to me - so does the main tag where is says Burberry London - maybe send a closer clear photo of just that tag as well - then we can tell more.
Tough to make out the tags when they are that distance

Hi,

I just bought this scarf on Vinted:

I am a bit skeptical after receiving it:
- Label looks different . I thought all Burberry labels have the font with the "kickstanding" R but apparently, they have changed that.
- "Edges" look cheap and uneven. I expected to have some neats on the edges.
- "Bleeding" Burberry checks
- Colors are a bit blurry overall

Quality of this scarf seems worse compared to the original older ones. However, I am not sure if this is because the quality of newer scarfs has generally decreased, but please have a look at the picture.

Seller insists that she bought it it last year at Bicester Burberry store. Shedoes not have the receipt (fair enough), nor can she show me any transactions of that time (her banking app only tracks transactions less than a year). She has the bag tough (not sure if that helps...)

Hi there, I own multiple burberry scarves and have purchased from the flagship store as well as from bicester village.
The scarf does look pretty genuine to me. The quality may seem a bit different as the supply in bicester village is "outlet" supply and not always leftover from the store. Esp a classic scarf like this one will never be an old, out of session stock as this is the burberry classic scarf.
There are many videos and articles on how outlet is cheaper as they create a cheaper stock just for outlet sale. Eg, you'll notice a lot of jackets in burberry outlet that are made in China. Similar style in a flagship store will be made in England or some other high cost centre.

I have scarves that are 50/50 wool and cashmere - though I agree they are not as common as all wool or all cashmere. That tag should be blue in real life - not black. Is it your photo?

Is there such a thing as "outlet supply" using cheaper stock?? I don't think so.

As far as I know Burberry outlets sell items that are left over (not sold, then price reduced, from other stores), but all items are first quality. Maybe items from last season - but not second quality items.

If there were cheaper quality versions of items - that would be brand damaging - Burberry has taken some heat lately for destroying unsold merchandise.
Let me know if anyone has any more information.

I humbly disagree. I have had a chat with an SA at one of the burberry outlet stores in the UK, I'm not going to mention which one. But she confirmed that not all the stock is leftover or previous season. Some is just made specifically for outlet. She suggested I read the fabric tag and gather clues from there. That's how I first learnt about it, 2 years ago.

Here's one CBC video investigating outlets.



This is just one of the examples. There's a lot of research and articles out there that suggest most of the outlets do have lesser quality stock.

She also mentioned that she still enjoyed working at the burberry outlet over the flagship store because everyone got the commission evenly split into the SAs unlike in the other stores.
