Hi everyone! I would much appreciate input on the authenticity of this Bottega bag I purchased from C.E.T.T.I.R.E. (sorry, I'm not sure why I can't directly type the name of this boutique but take the periods out!). I normally would not question this store but the smell of this bag really caught me off guard and being my first Bottega leather purchase I have no experience to compare to.

Photos of the actual item are attached. Please let me know if I can take any more angles or closeups. It has a pretty strong leather smell that concerns me, but I have zero experience with leather Bottega items beyond a handful of in store try ons. None of my other designer bags have come with this smell.

I tried searching forums to see if Bottega bags or specifically the Jodie have history of smelling this way but didn't turn up much, or I missed it.

Appreciate any insight!

This Jodie is authentic, IMO.
BV bags have always had a delicious leather smell.
*or at least they did during Tomas Maier’s reign.

Unfortunately, I am unable to authenticate items without heatstamps sand/or authenticity tags. Mostly due to the proliferation of very well made fakes flooding the market. Some may have a microchip inside, and can be read by any SA at a boutique.

Thanks so much for the support in advance. I feel i have looked everywhere and i am grateful for your knowledge.

I purchased what i think to be a vintage Bottega Veneta clutch but is so unique that i am unsure if it is real, what era it is from and what it could be worth.

The leather feels fantastic, the clasp hearty and functional and the ties in excellent condition. There is some use on the bottom inside, and only one tag, the metal one as pictured.

What do you think?

Hi! Hoping you can authenticate and date this vintage bag purchased from The Real Real.
There is no paper tag/certification of authenticity, which gives me some pause, though it's possible it was cut out. I don't see any residue or remnant of such a tag, though. Zipper pull looks right, and zippers are stamped RiRi as I believe they should be. The leather feels right compared with my other 1980s/1990s vintage Bottega, which does have an authentication tag.

My vintage knowledge isn’t that great, but this does look authentic to me. It’s probably from around the 70s or so - BV didn’t use an authenticity tag at that time.

The looks like an authentic vintage Bottega Veneta IMO. I can’t help with a date unfortunately.
