Unfortunately, the White Tag has not been preserved due to the very active use of the bag over the years. so I'm wondering if there are red flags that would say that this cabat is a fake or can you say that this bag is probably the original

There are definitely red flags.
This bag is in your possession?
Are the straight lines on the metal plaque engraved or printed?
The intrecciato is messy
I see ties to close the bag?
The zipper pull
The overall quality of the leather on the pouch
Even if the authenticity tag was well worn, it should be visible.

thanks for your reply! frame on the plate engraving. weaving is not the same as I saw on the Internet "intrecciato", when strips of leather are threaded into holes in a whole piece of leather, but in fact it is woven. this is my aunt's bag and I think that after 15 years of very active and careless use, the tag could come off. To be honest, I'm just curious if this bag can really be born in 2002, because then it is over 20 years old! I will ask her about the strings

But that is not how a Cabat is made. It is made like this:

I’m not sure why you think this was made in 2002. Only the authenticity tag can determine that. It would be extremely rare that a tag detached, as they are securely sewn into the bag.

I saw that it was 2002 on a metal plate and thought it was the year of manufacture. I don't know anything about the bv brand at all, since it's not in my area of interest, so I can only get all the information from the Internet and your forum. so I apologize for the questions that exist stupid ☺️

You could always carry it to a BV boutique, and while browsing at other items, casually mention that you forgot what colour it is, and would they happen to know? Whomever has been put in charge of manufacturing these bags has really dropped the ball, IMO. Since around 2019/2020, there has been a real lack of consistency with these bags. They don’t use any particular brand of zipper anymore, they change hardware colour from month to month it seems, some buckles are engraved - some aren’t.... the overall quality of the bag you posted is nowhere near what you would have found ten years ago. (I hope I didn’t offend you, it wasn’t my intention, but more of an observations of the more recent offerings by the brand)

@V0N1B2 and @lukewitek I hope you don't mind me jumping in. Not here to help authenticate, but I own this bag in the Inkwell colorway and confirm the nylon pockets look the same as mine. This bag is from the men's Cassette line, and the color looks to be Travertine. I ordered mine through my SA at the BV boutique and it was sent to me directly from Italy. If you would like, I can post photos of mine for comparison.

One item to note - mine does not have an authenticity tag. I asked my SA about that, and she told me this style of bag does not have one. However, my Inkwell bag was introduced around the time they started doing the embedded chips. The Travertine colorway came out one season earlier in 2022, I believe. Earlier in 2022, BV was at least still doing authenticity tag on the women's bags. I am not sure about men's.

I’ve never seen anything like this. This does not look like an 80s style bag - Bottega or otherwise - either. That, coupled with the type of leather, the heatstamp on a patch, and the lining, make me believe this is not authentic.
