I think the Scala bag is fine too - I recognize the seller's name as a tPFer who had that same bag authenticated on page 35 of this thread (had to google to find that! I'm not associated w/seller at all - just rang a bell). Feedback- the neg as a seller was 3 years ago and from someone w/little feedback themselves. I don't think authenticity on this particular bag is an issue at all.

It's an incredible deal - I obviously freaked when I saw it and did as much research as possible, but I have to remember I'm on SERIOUS-BAG-BAN. Hope someone else nabs it!

Hi, I'm looking at a bag in the color "scala" - what color is it? -- a red or a pink? Since I have cassis, this might be a bad choice, but as you may be able to tell from all of my questions, I'm itching for another bag.
Do you know the number for the color scala?

I keep a list of these - for the colors that I have come across... scala = 2202.

Yours is cassis, but for some reason which I haven't been able to figure out, BV sometimes does different codes for different styles. For instance, campanas have different ending numbers than the same color in Venetas. Same for the Old Ball - I had a Nero and the last 4 digits were 8175 even though Nero in Venetas is 1000. :shrugs: I was really confused (and panicked!) when I first saw that in my bag until I noticed the pattern. Hope that helps, and makes sense!!

I wonder why?... but that explains a recent listing by fashionphile: a campana that they refered to as ebano with a color code of 2072, insted of the the usual, 2040. That had me thrown for awhile, but their reputation is good, and everything else looked authentic. Thanks blugenie, it is nice to know!

Hi, I had asked the 8175 vs. 1000 color code on Campanas when this seller had one

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=380037752206&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=025

and she replied:

the black campana is a nero but it is color code 8175 because it has a bit of brunito in it; this color is a very dark brown, however, it's called nero because you don't see any brown in it; it was just part of the dying process but really has no outcome as it does appear to be nero.

Hope this helps!
Susan is very knowledgeable, but I would want comformation from a BV rep. From what I understand they are not really forthcoming on this type of info.

Yes, I remember this... in Feb. It is a really nice bag! Makes me feel better about wanting to resell something that I bought, and do not/will not wear, because it is not big enough for me.

I just wanted to let previous posters know that my BV snake skin jacket is authentic.. I just did a quick search to check out my competition and came across this thread. The original price tag is marked with "BETSEYLUXE" because at the time of posting another seller was using other people's photos and I did not want anyone using my personal photos of the jacket or its tags. "BETSEYLUXE" was applied to the tag in Paint on my computer, not the actual tag on the jacket.

I just started my growing my business and that is why I have sold lower price items. But you will see that my feedback is 100% positive...

I hope this clears up any confusion and the person originally interested will take another look at this gorgeous jacket since the auction ends tonight!

Thanks for the explanations, betseyluxe... this forum exists because there are sellers of counterfeit items out there, and more than one of us has been the victim of such scams... hence our caution. Welcome to the BV forum, and best of luck in growing your business!

thanks in advance.

Please help me with this one. I asked for photos of the certificato di originalita and zipper head but seller said that all were in the posted photos. She guaranttes authenticity and said that she bought this in a store in NY.

Thanks,

You asked for the right things, but seller isn't being helpful. I would think this bag would have a white authenticity tag sewn into a seam inside the bag somewhere. And just seeing the zipper doesn't show you the brand of the zipper. It looks ok from the pics, but there isn't enough for me to say one way or the other.

Grommet bag experts, please comment!

I'm no expert, but looks real to me. Looks exactly like this used one (http://cgi.ebay.com.hk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220236754866) for sale in Hong Kong ebay for US$800+!! For $300 this looks like a great deal plus it's unused.
