what do you think? I asked for a picture of the tags, she said that there weren't any, but I think she thought I meant paper. All bags have a sewn in tag, don't they? thanks again!

Man! Not very good pics to make a decision on! The oldest bags have no authenticity tags sewn in, but this one (the Cocker) has a white tag somewhere inside. Also get a clear pic of the Bottega Veneta/made in Italy lettering stamped into the leather. You can't make an informed decision based on the photos provided.

If it's authentic, I hope you will get it. I never bought anything from ebay. I think the price is good $499? I love that green and the suede lining matches the green very well.

You need more photos--a clear photo of the stamped font, and this size should have a white authenticity tag--a photo of both sides is needed.

I looked at the BV bag in this seller's listings and it looks "off" to me for a new bag.

thanks boxermom, better not risk it then! it's not that much more expensive for me to buy it at a boutique. (:

Hi, I'm looking at a bag in the color "scala" - what color is it? -- a red or a pink? Since I have cassis, this might be a bad choice, but as you may be able to tell from all of my questions, I'm itching for another bag.
Do you know the number for the color scala?

Scala is from a few years ago. I don't know the number, but if I recall, it's more of a brick red, not a pinkish tint at all.

I know others will have more knowledge about this--maybe even have a bag in this color.

here's another color question - I could ask it in the "Red and Pink" thread, but I'll try here first
I got a cassis campana from BV San Francisco. I was just looking at the tags and the color code is 6472. That's not cassis, is it? What did I get?

Yours is cassis, but for some reason which I haven't been able to figure out, BV sometimes does different codes for different styles. For instance, campanas have different ending numbers than the same color in Venetas. Same for the Old Ball - I had a Nero and the last 4 digits were 8175 even though Nero in Venetas is 1000. :shrugs: I was really confused (and panicked!) when I first saw that in my bag until I noticed the pattern. Hope that helps, and makes sense!!

Hi, I had asked the 8175 vs. 1000 color code on Campanas when this seller had one

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=380037752206&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=025

and she replied:

the black campana is a nero but it is color code 8175 because it has a bit of brunito in it; this color is a very dark brown, however, it's called nero because you don't see any brown in it; it was just part of the dying process but really has no outcome as it does appear to be nero.

Hope this helps!

Yes, that's fairly bad feedback %. Nearly all seller's recent transactions have been as a buyer, not a seller. That may not mean anything. The pics look like the bag is authentic.

Hopefully others will offer opinions also.

Scala is a true color. It's from last fall/winter. It was also produced in the Roma. It's less pink, more red. Think: a faded brick red? Does that make sense? All in all, it's a nice color - it's more on the neutral side, it's not a flashy color at all.
