I've never had a Cabat, so I'm not an expert on the style. I see no obvious problems with this bag. I would guess it's the medium size.

Hopefully some members who know more about this style will comment!

Hmmm. Good question. It's a little hard to see the font on the nametag. I would want to see a clear, close-up pic of that. The authenticity tag looks ok. The only other thing I question is the close-up in the original listing of the handle and what looks like very poor stitching.

Maybe someone else can figure out what that is--bad stitching or am I mistaken?

Capisco. I would not bid unless the seller provides pictures that verify the authenticity. Someone here once told me that another bag always comes along... and I found that to be the case. Happy hunting!

Allora, I know the first 2 rules of the forum, but I'm strangely compelled by this bag. Negs: 1) no one had bid on it 2)my BV SA has never seen this bag or pattern (I sent her a pic only) Pos: 1)visually striking 2)price 3)returns avail. if not auth.

Care to be my voice of reason? Anyone? Beuhler?

I noticed that instantly - bad stitching. I don't think such poor workmanship will get the nods of BV QC guys!

I'm very very suspicious of this bag - all the more when it's from 'Germany' (it seems).

Can anyone weigh in on my bag posted on page 80? Front of authentication tag is the brown tag with the arrow. Do the numbers tell anything about the age of the bag? I thought based on the assumption that the open interior pockets were cell phone pockets, that the bag may be just a few years old. Then I looked at Ebay guide again and they talked about this label being an older one (but they didn't say how old). The handles show no wear and the lining is in perfect condition. It could be an older bag that just wasn't used heavily.

I'm guessing it's authentic, but it's a vintage I don't know that much about. It would probably be before Tomas Maier came along in 2001 (?). The odd thing about it is the wear shown on the authenticity tag, but no wear on the handles or lining.

If no one replies, it usually means we aren't sure enough to offer any opinion. My opinion is just a guess based on your description of the soft leather and the appearance in the weave close-up.

You make an interesting point about the wear on the authenticity tag...I can't explain it. Maybe the person who had it before used the compartment a lot and the tag, being fabric, took more of a beating than the leather or metal parts. Do you know what the numbers on the authenticity tag mean? The girl at the shop where I bought it thought it might be very vintage (70's) but I don't think it would have had cell phone pockets back then. Thanks for your input.
