The item number is: 28021749066

Thanks. I appreciate your help so much.:shame:

Welcome to the Purse Forum and the BV subforum!

I really hate to tell you that this bag is fake. I'm so sorry. If it helps at all, the first BV I bought on eBay was a fake. I didn't know the Purse Forum existed to help authenticate bags.

I totally agree with boxermom - the bag is a fake.
The receipt from BV Harbour City (HK) and the SA's name is genuine - it must be for a genuine BV (I mean, a genuine bag other than the one listed).

So sorry for you. Good luck and I hope you get your money back quickly.

1st (trusted seller), 3rd, 4th look authentic to me. 2nd and last: request clear pictures of the authenticity tag located in the zipper pocket - both sides. In addition, 2nd: the description indicates a medium size Veneta with a current suggested price of $1480, I believe, not $1850 for the large 5th... these look like stock pictures to me. Ask for pictures of the actual bag with clear close-ups of the impressed BV logo, and the back and front of the authenticity tags. With all, ask for good clear pics of the interiors, and if there are any "little" things that you should be aware of.

hi there! does anyone know what year this is from and if authentic?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=320242806945&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=011

thanks!

Offhand, the font does not look right to me, nor the interior lining (non-suede, or non-logo fabric, or non-leather). I have never seen this style before, but I could be wrong. If you want to persue this, ask for clear close-ups of the authenticity tag, front and back.

boxermom - what do you think????

I personally can't see enough to make a good decision, since this is one of the most counterfeited bags. That said, the font of the impressed logo looks ok to me, but before you purchase, request clear, close-up photos of the authenticity tag in the interior of the zipper pocket - front and back, the magnets, the zipper pull, and the interior fabric of the pocket. The seller has no feedback, and this could be a problem.

There are others who do have this bag in Limo, and hopefully, they can tell you if the lining color is correct.

I don't know which season--it's been around a few yrs at least. I think the Julie came out Fall 2006. When you say woven hobo, do you mean the classic Veneta? Julie is later than the woven tote and definitely newer than the Veneta.

I can count on the others here to make any needed corrections in what I've said! ;) There are people here with a LOT of BV knowledge.

Thanks again boxermom....but I am a little confuse which one is the classic venetta?

So from these 3 bags, which one is the latest? (I believe all are authentic, but please correct me if I am wrong)

Anyone here know? Sorry to be such a pain.

Sorry, when you said woven hobo, I immediately thought Veneta (the plain hobo, not among the 3 in your list), not the first bag you listed. I don't know exactly but I would guess the Julie or the flap woven hobo are later than the tote. Hopefully someone knows the answer to your question.

Thanks. Hopefully, the seller honors their return policy. How can you tell? That way I can learn from this.
Thanks again.

The hardware is wrong; the lining should be suede. The name tag is the wrong font. Most BV's in the last few years have the font stamped right into the leather. In some styles it's stamped on a leather piece that doesn't look like this and isn't stitched to the lining. What they did is illegal--selling a fake bag. They should return your money without hesitation. I hope they do.

Oh my gosh, are you serious? Thank goodness I did not end up biding because I missed the end time! But I was SO close! How can you tell that this is not authentic? http://cgi.ebay.ph/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...2496&_trksid=p3907.m32&_trkparms=tab=Watching

I have never seen a BV box clutch with this closure (or large tassel, but I don't know every style). Also the name plaque has a block font that was used only a few years but I believe those also had an authenticity tag (different from the ones now). It's just a guess that this isn't real, but maybe others here know details that I don't.

Baggiana, you're right--bad font, lining, stuff hanging from the bag. I think this bag or one very much like it has been listed before.

HI! I'm new to BV and I just got my first BV wallet tonight from Filene's Basement. I just want to make sure I wasn't 'victimized' by a fake purchase... Please authenticate and thanks in advance!!!

This clutch has been relisted... it may be authentic. The seller wrote the BV authenticity guides on eBay; I have written her before, and I tend to trust her, though I have never seen the closure or tassel either on this type of clutch. Write her for an additional close-up of the metal tag so that we can see the font more clearly if you are still interested.
