Authentic. The first paragraph requesting that the listing not be removed by VeRO (Verified Rights Owner) means that seller is declaring that the item is genuine. VeRO means representatives of some manufacturers will sometimes remove listings they feel are fake or illegal in some way. For example, Coach and LV do it sometimes if a listing seems *off* to them. Sometimes they remove authentic items which is a problem for the legitimate sellers, yet leave obvious fakes up. I hope that's not too confusing. It really has nothing to do with the auction of the bag.

Boxermom,

Not confusing at all ... it actually makes complete sense, and it's great information to know for the future!

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and verifying the bag's authenticity for me!

Hi - could you please authenticate. Have you ever seen a tag like this? thanks.

item: BOTTEGA VENETA leather cabat - (turquoise)
item number: 170442501991
seller: fifthavesnob78
link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170442501991&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

My opinion is that it is a fake..unless it is a special order but i doubt it as it looks cheap and I don't tink the studio would have agreed on producing this...and it wouldn't be sold so little if it was a special/exclusive order so FAKE :D

Boxermom and flluffymonsters, I contacted this seller about the condition of the bag. She explained that the leather has worn off around the top of the o-rings. She sent me pictures of the o-rings. From the pictures I would say that the leather has completely worn off the top half of the o-rings. The wear may not be apparent when the bag is carried and the shoulder strap is in an upward position. However, when the bag is sitting and the shoulder strap drops, the wear will be very obvious. I decided not to bid on the bag. However, perhaps BV could repair or replace the o-rings. The seller said the corners show light wear also. Please feel free contact me if you have any questions.

Boxermom, shih_tzu-lover - Thanks a lot for your responses. :smile1:

shih-tzu-lover - I'll get in touch with the seller for pics, and if I find out there are any other signs of wear, will let you know.

We use a standard format for authenticity questions. It makes it faster for the authenticators. Please read the highlighted link if you request again. Since this is your first request, I'll save time and tell you what details we would need to see: close-up photos of both sides of the authenticity tag; the stamped side of the zipper pull (where the zipper brand is stamped). I'm unsure about this bag. The color looks off or maybe it's just very worn and over-exposed to weather or heat. The interior is quite stained too.

Here are the instructions: [/COLOR]Please READ THIS before posting in Authentication thread

i believe this is from last year resort, but other ladies can weigh in. it looks good, but it also would be better to see non-blurry pix of the tags just to be 100% certain.
