Thanks for your input, I thought the tag was looking good since another pleated veneta has simliar numbers on the authenticity tag.....Glad I didn't go for it, thanks!:smile1:

Fakers can copy numbers--the style numbers are on the BV website. They can even buy fake receipts! It's several details that we put together to form an opinion. You yourself had a feeling that it didn't look quite right. We can't always count on that gut feeling but sometimes just the outer appearance will send up a red flag on a particular bag. I'm glad you didn't lose your money. I bought a fake Veneta several years ago (never heard of Purse Forum then) and was shocked when I found out it was bad, after seeing a real Veneta.

Hi, we need more pictures to authenticate - please see post one of this thread. Helpful would be where the authenticity tag is located (pics); the handles, the pouch, everything (I am unable to see the details close enough from your pic on shutterfly)...cabats require more pics than other bags due to the amount of good fake ones out there.

In the future, you never want to spend thousands of dollars on an auction that just has a stock photo. Or that you haven't authenticated before bidding. The other link that the seller sent you is now unavailable, so if ebay or pp get involved, all they will see is the stock photo in the auction which is not good for you. No bag is worth this kind of risk! Just my two cents :smile1:

Let's let the other authenticators take a look...

aa, have peace of the mind. You have gotten a very beautiful authentic BV cabat at a great price. I have seen the pictures you sent a link to. IT IS AUTHENTIC. For instance, the metal plates on the fake ones do not have the three stamps in the lower right corner (for they can't see clearly what they are therefore they can't imitate). :D

Hi, I just bought my first BV handbag from my friend and I want to be sure it is authentic, so would you be so kind and help me with it? Thank you very much on advance.

Hi, thank you for your opinions. I am really shocked. I wrote this to my friend and she still says it is authentic. She says she was in our local BV boutique and that they confirmed it was authentic and that she wrote to BV, sent them the code and photos and they confirmed the authenticity either. I really feel very bad now and don´t know what to do.

To my knowledge, both local BV boutiques (their salespersons are especially instructed not to authenticate) and BV official website(you could reach a real person only when you have paid for purchases) would not do what your friend told you. Just for your information.;)

Hi there,
I am looking to buy this vintage maroon BV from someone who swears that the bag is authentic. I am a little skeptical because there are no tags or serial numbers anywhere to be found on the bag. Could that be because it is so old or because it is fake?? Help!? I would really love to buy this bag but only if it is definitely authentic. Please help
Thanks

I'm sorry. I've never been in this type of situation before. Depending on the type of relationship you have with your friend, some options that come to mind are:

-simply asking for a refund and returning it to her (if she's a good friend, she shouldn't mind if you have qualms about it--she wouldn't want something like this get in the way of your friendship, would she?)

-going together with her to the boutique with the bag, and asking for their opinion on authenticity--which she shouldn't mind doing if she is being truthful about her story of having done so already. I've never had to ask a boutique to do this sort of thing for me, and I have no idea whether they would or wouldn't do it (it might depend on the particular boutique, or your country of residence)

In any case, I'm sorry to say that I still don't think it's authentic, based on the photos you've provided to us. Perhaps there is some logical explanation for her believing the bag to be authentic, but it just doesn't appear to be so in reality. Good luck.
